Brian McFadden snubs 's**t dad' allegations after Kerry Katona's scathing rant

Brian McFadden has seemingly snubbed Kerry Katona's recent claims he was a 's**t dad' to daughters Molly, 21, and Lilly, 20. The mum-of-five slammed the Westlife musician in a recent interview, discussing their doomed marriage, which ended 17 years ago.

The estranged couple divorced in 2006 after a four-year marriage when Brian reportedly 'signed away the right to pay them maintenance'. "He was a s**t dad, he was a s**t dad," Kerry claimed to Ellie McKay on her On A Mission Podcast.

She added: "I think that really bothers [Molly and Lilly] especially now because he is a great dad with Ruby. The older the girls have got, the more of a relationship they’ve had with Brian. That’s not me slagging him off, he’ll admit that himself."

Seemingly choosing not to respond to Kerry's criticism, Brian took to social media to wish Molly a happy birthday, not addressing any of his ex-wife's claims. "Happy birthday to my beautiful daughter Molly. 22 today," he wrote. "I’m so very proud of you. Your talents are inspiring. I Love you and enjoy your day and break before the misery of new term starts again. Xxx." After sharing several loved-up family photos, Molly replied to her dad's post, saying: "Thank you love you xx."

Discussing Brian's relationship with his kids in October, Kerry told OK!: "He’s a better dad now to Ruby and I think that hurts the girls. We all change. He’s older, with more patience." She added: "I feel he is doing it better this time around – which is great. But that doesn’t stop the hurt my girls feel because of that." Brian and Kerry's separation seemed to have an effect on their youngest daughter Lilly-Sue who's decided marriage isn't for her.

The 20-year-old says that she learnt 'not to get married' from her parents and that seeing them wed several times is 'proof that people can grow apart from their partner'. "Personally, I'm not a 'marriage girl'," she previously told MailOnline.

"I never have been and it's no reflection on my mum, it's a bit of an inside joke," she admitted, branding the whole ordeal 'just a legal contract'. She added: "It's always seemed odd to me that to prove your love for someone you should sign a piece of paper that's legally binding.

"For me I just need to trust that they will stay. We never stop growing and unfortunately some people grow apart and that's the reality of life so why would I want to pay all the divorce lawyers and go through that?"
