Former Hollyoaks star now looks totally different after huge career change
A Hollyoaks star looks unrecognisable ten years after swapping the soap for a totally different career.
Sonny Flood played Josh Ashworth on the Channel 4 programme over a decade ago. The actor joined the show in 2005 as the loveable teenager and the little brother of Rhys and Hannah Ashworth. He was swept up into drama throughout his time in the village as he got into a war with Sarah and Amy Barnes alongside Nancy Hayton. It came after Josh wanted to get onto the Year 12 'Fit List', where the three girls tricked Josh into stripping in front of a group of students.
He got back at the girls by interviewing them and changing their responses to embarrassing answers. The character also got swept up into school gang drama which ended with cars being smashed and Josh copying pornographic videos for cool guy Ste. Sonny also showed off his acting talent by getting involved in more serious storylines alongside the character Amy.

He now has a totally different career over a decade after quitting actingAs an on-screen couple, they explored themes of drink driving, teen pregnancy and abortion. Sonny left Hollyoaks in 2010 but returned for two episodes in 2012. His life off-screen has been far less dramatic as he quit acting altogether for a very different career path. Sonny is now 33 years old and a qualified lawyer based in Manchester.
He specialises in family law as well as dealing with personal injury cases where he acts on behalf of claimants and defendants. Sonny's law firm said on its website: "Sonny prides himself on his client care and his ability to build a strong working relationship with clients when dealing with sensitive subject material. In care proceedings, Sonny has experience of dealing with clients where issues of capacity have been raised and expert instruction has been sought and challenged."

He has worked in the Family Court and even in the High Court on some of his cases. The former actor is also a proud dad to a young son. Sonny left the soap when the whole Ashworth family except for Rhys were axed. The new producer at the time, Paul Marquess said they were getting rid of the "deadwood". He left in 2010 when the character was spiked and crashed a car full of his friends.
Following his Hollyoaks career, he was seen in Casualty and Doctors before putting his focus on education where he completed a law degree at the University of Manchester, working as a paralegal. Sonny now looks totally different having ditched his floppy long locks for a much shorter trim.
