Strictly Come Dancing star Johannes Radebe has shared a sweet response to Capital FM DJ Roman Kemp's request to partner with him on the BBC dancing show.

Roman, 30, has made it no secret that he would happily appear on the BBC dancing competition on just one condition. The presenter has stated in the past that he would want to be in a same-sex couple in a bid to avoid the infamous Strictly curse.

Over the years, celebrities have found themselves falling for their professional partner despite having a relationship outside of the programme, with many claiming the show has a special effect on people.

Speaking to OK Magazine, he said: "The only way I’d do Strictly is if I was teamed up with Johannes [Radebe]," he said. "I think sometimes the show takes away from the skill of the dancers and it becomes like a soap opera of who’s dating who."

Now, Johannes delightfully responded to Roman's admission, after the star spoke out about the dancer back in July. "I was like, 'Strictly, do something about this,'" he said and added: "I think he’s a lovely guy. I’ve never seen him dance but I know I would laugh and that’s one of the most important things. [I'd want to dance with either] him or Andrew Garfield."

Last year, the dancer was paired with comedian Ellie Taylor but in 2021, Johannes was in a same-sex partnership with The Great British Bake Off star John Whaite. The pair, who were fan-favourites with viewers at home, narrowly missed out on the coveted top spot after losing to EastEnders star Rose Ayling Ellis and Giovanni Pernice.

Recently, John Whaite confessed to falling in love with Johannes while being in a relationship. John revealed he and his partner of 15 years, Paul Atkins, "spent time apart" after the series ended and after he realised he was in love with Johannes. Speaking about his experience in the dancing competition, he said: "I fell in love with him [Johannes]. I can't speak for him – because I'm not allowed to, legally – but it felt like there was love there.

"We had such similar stories growing up; the homophobia, the bullying, coming out, coming to terms with our sexuality, as any queer kid would." John then stated: "I still love Johannes. Of course I do." John further astounded his fans when he admitted that he had cheated on his partner. Early on in their relationship, before they were engaged, John found himself 'testing the boundaries' and admitted that soap stars and minor celebs would make his eyes wander.
