Bray Wyatt died during his sleep after not having his defibrillator with him which he'd been recommended with details of his secret health struggle now emerging.

The 36-year-old was sadly pronounced dead on Thursday after being out of action for several months due to an undisclosed illness. Law enforcement records have now confirmed that Wyatt passed away in his sleep after struggling with a heart issue.

He was found in his bed, not breathing and turning blue. Wyatt, real name Windham Rotunda, went to take a nap on Thursday afternoon when his girlfriend became concerned after his alarm went off an hour later without stopping.

When he was found not breathing, 911 was called and CPR was performed on him. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the hospital that same day.

According to TMZ, police have spoken with his family, who confirmed that he had COVID earlier this year, which reportedly saw him have a 'weak lower part of his heart'. Wyatt had also reportedly been in hospital last week as he struggled with the heart issue - even speaking with a doctor on the morning of his death.

He had reportedly been told to wear an external heart defibrillator. But it was not with him when his body was found unresponsive.

His death was first confirmed by WWE chief content officer Paul 'Triple H' Levesque. His statement read: "Just received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda who informed us of the tragic news that our WWE family member for life Windham Rotunda - also known as Bray Wyatt - unexpectedly passed earlier today.

"Our thoughts are with his family and we ask that everyone respect their privacy at this time."

Wyatt had been a beloved figure in the WWE, being a three-time champion and twice holding the Universal Championship. He had surprisingly been released in 2021, but returned the following year under a different gimmick.

He had been scheduled to make his Wrestlemania return in April, but his illness saw that match cancelled. Tragically, it was believed that Wyatt would be returning to the ring in the coming months - before he passed last week.

Wyatt was engaged to WWE ring announcer Joseann 'JoJo' Offerman, with them having two children together. They had been set to marry later this year.
