The boyfriend of a popular Instagram influencer, known for her energetic roller skating videos, has been apprehended and charged with her murder, according to authorities.

Beauty Couch, also recognised by her online name Beauty Katera, 22, was discovered near her torched vehicle on Wednesday in Austell, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. Cobb County Police Department reported that responders arrived to find the car engulfed in flames and soon after located a body matching her description in a nearby wooded area.

"Foul play is suspected,” stated the Cobb County Police Department in a released statement.

The bereaved family of the young influencer is grappling with the loss. Kim Couch, her mother said: "They took a part of my life from me… They took a part of my heart. I want them to pay for what they did to my baby."

While authorities have yet to release details about a potential motive, Sheriff Randy Smith of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office said: "Let the message be that we do not take kindly to people who think they can commit a crime elsewhere and try to hide in St. Tammany Parish. We were happy to help our counterparts in Georgia by locating this suspect and taking him into custody so he may face justice and Miss Couch’s family can begin to receive closure during this difficult time."

Beauty Couch was described as a "sweet girl" by her mother, who had a positive impact on those around her. She added in an interview with WSB-TV: “She was a friend to everybody. She loved going skating. She loved going to work. She loved her clothes. She loved wearing her hair so pretty.”

On Instagram, Miss Couch went by the handle Beauty Katera, amassing a following of 155,000. She shared her passion for dance through roller skating videos and had recently promoted her dance class.

Her final Instagram post, featuring poolside photos, was published just before her death. Her followers have taken to the comments section upon learning about her alleged murder. One tribute reads: "The sweetest soft girl ever, never was mad, never had an attitude, the biggest smile every time."

Another added: "You were my favourite girl skater. I’ll miss seeing that smile every time we meet. What a brilliant mind, always wanted to learn more and be the best you could! RIP to you and prayers to your family."
