Denise Van Outen’s ex Eddie Boxshall has found love with someone who looks an awful lot like her and says he's happier now then he's ever been.

It was announced last year that the pair, who starred on Celebrity Gogglebox, had ended their seven year relationship. Eddie said he was "deeply sorry" and "ashamed" over sending texts of a sexual nature behind her back which ultimately saw their love crumble.

He seems to be moving and the commodities trader shared a snap of his new flame, a personal trainer from Essex. People were quick to notice she looks a lot like the former Big Breakfast star, 49, and Eddie had a snappy response when someone started dropping hints.

Uploading a shot with his new girlfriend, the pair smiled as he captioned the shot: "Bank holiday", with a big love heart and then Eddie included the hashtags "#shhhthereyougo #idontdohating #thankstothenicepeople #happy".

Someone commented: "Anyone going to state the obvious?", before Eddie then quickly responded in an apparent dig at his former romance: "Yeah, I'm happier than I've ever been... Well spotted." Denise has moved on to and is said to be still going strong with her new property developer boyfriend Jimmy Barba.

Going public with new man at the 12th annual Grand Prix Ball last June, the pair were reportedly set up by their mutual pal, All Saints singer Shaznay Lewis. Dating for over a year, the TV star and the 55-year-old have enjoyed a number of lavish holidays together after becoming smitten.

"Denise hasn’t been as happy as this in many years. No one makes her laugh like Jimmy does and they’ve become incredibly close very quickly," a source close to the star told MailOnline. "She’s fallen hard and fast and the holiday has been amazing. It’s shown that they love spending as much time together as possible and the next natural step is moving in."

Denise detailed the break-up from Eddie in her autobiography A Bit Of Me: From Basildon To Broadway And Back. She said she had noticed "red flags" after finding photos of a woman's breasts on his iPad. She wrote: "Among photos was a screenshot…of a woman’s breasts – and they definitely weren’t mine! Also, there was a flirty text exchange between Eddie and this woman, which, of course, set off alarm bells."

The father-of-two said he had hoped the relationship was "strong enough to withstand a mistake" made at a "very dark time" in his life – but acknowledged trust has been broken. Eddie said he's tried to apologise to Denise – claiming to have sent messages expressing his regret and love – with him adding he felt "embarrassed" and "ashamed".

Denise told The Sun: "Obviously those things weren’t nice to go through, but where I’m at now with Jimmy [Barba], who has such a good energy, everything was worth it. Honestly, I feel like I’m in a nice, happy, good place. I wouldn’t change anything. There were so many positives that came out of it,” she added. “I reconnected with a lot of close friends."
