One actress from the noughties looks worlds away from her very sexy role in the American Pie cinematic universe.

Around 25 years on from starring in the coming-of-age teen sex comedy series, Shannon Elizabeth Fadal looks very different from her role of Nadia. In the hit films, Shannon's character of Nadia is a gorgeous foreign exchange student who is the former girlfriend of Jim Levenstein.

The comedy classic first hit screens a quarter of a century ago, with the movies showing a group of high school kids all trying to lose their virginity in hilariously awkward circumstances. A total sex symbol in the hit movies, Shannon was also a teen idol thanks to the other roles she had in other movies like Tomcats, Scary Movie and Love Actually. And aside from her acting career, Shannon is also a conservationist, animal activist, model and poker player.

The sexy star's career on the screen isn't limited to the big one, because she has also dabbled in TV acting as well as film. In the 90s she popped up in Baywatch and That '70s Show as well as The Twilight Zone. She has also dabbled in a bit of reality television too. The Texas-born star has popped up in the likes of Dancing With The Stars and Celebrity Big Brother.

Shannon was 26 when she took on the role of Nadia in American Pie. She is now 49 years of age, with her turning 50 just next week when she celebrates her birthday on September 7. And honestly, she doesn't look as though she's aged at all.

Although the brunette bombshell stopped starring as Nadia in the film franchise in the noughties, she did return to the big screen in 2012 for American Reunion. And quite recently, she even spoke out about starring in the hit movies.

Speaking on the podcast Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum, Shannon said: "I told all my friends, 'This movie's gonna suck because they messed with my accent so much'. I was like, 'No, they're ruining it. Don't watch it'."

But in recent years, Shannon is a conservationist with more than 468,000 followers on Instagram. Often sharing snaps from her day-to-day life, the passionate vegan posts about animals, nature or various causes around the world. She is currently promoting a fundraiser on her page for the Maui Humane Society, with the star displaying the money-raising widget on her profile.
