Millie Bobby Brown has opened up about her engagement to Jake Bongiovi as she revealed the special meaning behind her massive engagement ring.

The Stranger Things star, 19, surprised fans when she announced back in April that she will be tying the knot with the 21-year-old son of rockstar Jon Bon Jovi. She's now shared intimate details of the proposal and revealed how he chose the perfect ring for her.

Millie explained how Jake had asked her mother, Kelly Brown, for help with ring shopping. Afterwards, she gave him one of her own which she knew her daughter already loved. "I've always loved that ring, it's always stuck out to me, so she gave it to Jake. They were in cahoots about the whole proposal," Millie explained.

She added: "I love that I can always keep a piece of my mum with me." Millie and Jake met on Instagram before they started dating in 2021. The actress said she instantly knew that Jake was "the one".

"As soon as we spoke I knew he was going to be a huge part of my life. I ran to my mum and said, 'I really, really like him!' After we met we knew we never wanted to leave each other's side," she told The Sunday Times.

Millie's parents are said to be very supportive of their daughter's relationship and she's even credited them for being her role models. Millie's parents, Kelly and Robert Brown were young when they started dating, with Millie gushing over how they've "stayed together for a really long time."

She also paid tribute to Jake's family and said they welcomed her with open arms. She also said she feels "grateful to be a part of their world".

Millie and Jake were friends for a while before moving to the next stage of their romance. The couple went public with their relationship in June 2021 as she shared a snap of Jake kissing her cheek on the London Eye, noting they were "Instagram official".

She's also previously described him as her "partner for life" on social media. The pair are yet to set a date for their wedding, but Millie has already been inundated with offers from designers to create her dress.
