EastEnders' Theo's feud with Eve could be 'red herring' as Martin 'faces danger'

EastEnders' Martin Fowler may want to "watch his back" in the coming weeks, after making an accusation about Stacey Slater's stalker Theo.

While viewers have seen Stacey's pal Eve Unwin at risk, with villain Theo eager to get her out of the way, it might in fact be Martin that is at greater risk. Martin is suspicious that newcomer Theo might be the person harassing Stacey, with him sharing his theory to Eve in a recent episode.

With Theo stepping up his plan and recently taunting Martin, desperate to stop him and Stacey from reuniting, it remains to be seen whether he could turn violent. Martin is certainly his biggest rival where a romance with Stacey is concerned, with them briefly reuniting earlier this year.

As Theo continues his plan and tries to get closer to Stacey in the coming weeks, will Martin push ahead with his theory or suspect someone else? And if Martin does confront Theo, will he be in serious danger?

According to The Mirror's soap expert, it's Martin that now needs to "watch his back" as Theo's war against Eve could be "a red herring". They teased Martin could be in "danger", given Theo's desperation to have Stacey all to himself and how far the plot has escalated.

Our soap source said: "Martin needs to be careful. His next move could place him at the top of Theo's hit list. We've seen Eve clash with Theo big time, but this could well be a red herring. If someone needs to watch their back, it's Martin and he could be in real danger."

They added: "Theo is ruthless, and I'm not sure we've even scratched the surface of what he's prepared to do to get Stacey. We know he wants certain people out of the way, so Martin should really watch out."

It's not yet clear if anyone will actually work out Theo is the stalker, and that he is Stacey's persistent client on SecretCam. Viewers have seen him going all out to target Stacey, from creepy messages and breaking in to her house, to trying to get rid of Eve and just hanging around for no real reason.

Some fans are questioning if Theo will end up dying at Christmas, as Stacey and six other women become caught up in a murder twist. A mystery male character is killed in The Queen Vic on Christmas Day, with Stacey possibly the killer - so could she end up killing her stalker, or might someone else kill him to protect her?

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
