Festival fans are fuming with US rapper Trippie Redd after he cancelled his performances at both Reading and Leeds this year. The Dark Knight Dummo megastar pulled his sets after coming down with a mystery illness, telling fans he was 'so sorry'.

But now the musician's followers are questioning the star's sudden exit, claiming he 'looks fine' in footage posted on Trippie's Instagram Story hours before his announcement. The rapper, born Michael Lamar White II, broke the news on X, formally Twitter.

"I’m so sorry to announce that I can’t perform this weekend. I was really looking forward to coming to Reading & Leeds Festivals but due to illness I have to cancel my visit to the UK. I hope to see you soon," he wrote in a statement released by organisers.

However, casting doubt after seeing Trippie's Story post, one follower replied: "He looks fine on his insta story posted 7 hours ago." While another blasted: "He just couldn’t be a***d. American rappers do this loads."

Fuming fans responded to the cancellation earlier this morning, calling for a star-studded replacement. One replied: "The actual only reason I was slightly tempted. So so happy I’ve not went now." While another said: "Announce Travis Scott." It's not yet known exactly what has happened to Trippie or if he'll reschedule his performance next year.

Reading and Leeds Festivals are two essentials on every music lover's calendar. Sam Fender, The Killers and Billie Eilish are amongst artists taking to the stage.
