Trader Joe's has issued a fifth product recall in a month amid fears of bugs, metal and rocks in the grocery giant's products.

The latest warning has been issued over tamales possibly containing undeclared milk, namely Texas Tamale Company Gourmet Black Bean Tamales. Affected products are coded with a number 717725000580) with a lot code of 7023 and are sold only in Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oaklahom, Tennessee, and Texas stores.

In a statement on its website, Trader Joes said: "No illnesses have been reported to date, and all potentially affected product has been removed from sale. If you purchased Texas Tamale Company Gourmet Black Bean Tamales, please do not eat them. We urge you to discard the product or return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund."

It comes days after a recall Trader Joe’s Multigrain Crackers with Sunflower and Flax Seeds (SKU# 76156) that product with Best If Used By dates 03/01/24 – 03/05/24 may contain metal. Again Trader Joes added: "No injuries have been reported to date, and all potentially affected product has been removed from sale and destroyed."

The grocery store said affected products were sold only in AL, AR, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, NC, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, VT, Washington DC, and WI stores — may contain rocks - adding all potentially affected product has been removed from sale and destroyed.

They added: "If you purchased or received any donations of Fully Cooked Falafel, please do not eat them. We urge you to discard the product or return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund."

Two different types of cookies have also been recalled - Trader Joe’s Almond Windmill Cookies (SKU# 98744) and Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Chunk and Almond Cookies (SKU# 82752) with the below sell by date codes may contain rocks:

All potentially affected product has been removed from sale and destroyed.

If you purchased or received any donations of Almond Windmill Cookies and/or Dark Chocolate Chunk and Almond Cookies, please do not eat them. We urge you to discard the product or return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund.

In a statement Trader Joes said: "We care greatly about the safety of the products we sell. We err on the side of caution and are proactive in addressing issues. We voluntarily take action quickly and aggressively—investigating potential problems and removing a product from sale if there is any doubt about its safety or quality.

"We don’t wait for regulatory agencies to tell us what to do. We share news through in-store signs, on our website, and through email alerts as soon as we need to let our customers know there might be a concern with any of our products.

"We will never leave to chance the safety of the products we offer."
