Denise Van Outen reveals she wishes some scenes didn't air on Celebrity Gogglebox

Denise Van Outen admitted there are a few things she has regretted saying while sitting on the sofa for Celebrity Gogglebox.

The 49-year-old star became a fan-favourite since appearing on the show with close pal Duncan James. She joined the series in 2019 and never holds back when watching all the latest shows and documentaries. During this week's Shopping with Keith Lemon, Denise talked about her show regrets.

Speaking to Keith, real name Leigh Francis, she said: "Sometimes I say things on Gogglebox I wish I'd not said." Keith then asked: "Have you ever said, 'I hate this show, it's s***?" to which she responded: "Yeah, I've done that a few times. Normally you record something and we think it's really funny and then you watch the show and you're not in it, they've just got you going, 'Ahh!'."

The star initially joined the show with her ex-partner, Eddie Boxshall. However, the two split up at the beginning of January 2022 and were hitting headlines when Denise shared her heartache after discovering that her husband-to-be was sending explicit messages to other women behind her back.

Speaking about the split, she said: "It was quite public. that one. It was hard, it was horrible. We're not friends, not at all. What kills you makes you stronger and all that. Also, I wouldn't change any of it. I know that sounds weird, but I feel so happy and in such a good place."

Eddie also opened up about their split, telling The Sun there are 'two sides to every story'. He said: "There is no animosity. Life goes on, The world carries on going around. She's happy. I'm really happy she's moved on. And I wish all the love and luck in the world. I'm still yet to start dating. I'm looking at career-wise first. Once I'm ready to move on, I'll move on."

Meanwhile, Denise's Celeb Gogglebox pal Duncan had nothing but compliments for the star as he recently opened up about their friendship in a column for the Mirror. "Since I came out, I’ve been so glad to have her as an ally but she’s ALWAYS getting me in trouble when we film Celebrity Gogglebox," he wrote.

"Her filthy sense of humour rubs off on me and we regularly get told off for making X-rated jokes. Bosses have to spend ages editing our segments before they air so we’re lobbying for a late-night version of the show."
