Stephanie Davis has taken to social media to share that she's been left in severe pain after "badly bruising" her ankle.

The Coronation Street star is now using crutches after explaining she's unable to lift her leg or put her weight down on it in order to walk. Taking to her Instagram page on Tuesday evening, Stephanie shared a video of her ankle which appeared to be swollen as she explained to fans that she was in pain.

Stephanie said: "Do you think I've just badly, badly bruised it? Ugh, look how swollen that is coming off. Ugh, I can't lift my leg up that way. Or put weight down on it, I can't even put the ice down on it because it's literally, I've done it right on that bone," she said before pointing to her foot.

"Ugh dear," she added. The star who is currently playing Courtney Vance in the ITV soap later took to Instagram in the early hours of Wednesday morning and said: "Hey guys! Thanks for the messages of love! Update, I'm on crutches until I can bare weight on it again but it's not broken, which is a relief!!

"Just very very sore and very swollen & seized up. Thanks for all the lovely messages. Its way past my granny bed time now. So I'm going to get some sleep and rest this foot. Sweet dreams."

Stephanie's gruelling injury comes after she and her partner Joseph Mckalroy welcomed a new addition to their busy household, leaving her son Caben overjoyed. Earlier this month, she took to Instagram to tease her son in a video as they headed on a day out.

"Where do you think we're going?" she asks the sweet five-year-old, to which he replies: "For lunch." "What if I told you that you can have a new puppy?" Davis then says, prompting Caben to become so excited that he begins to gasp and shout with delight. "You can have a little puppy... we're going to buy you one," the Corrie star adds.

Davis, who also previously starred on Hollyoaks, then posted a clip of Caben and Hallie together with their other dog, Sandy. "She was very excited to have a little sister and then has just not stopped giving her kisses," the English actress captioned the post.

Davis and Mckalroy began dating in 2022, six months after the mother-of-one ended her relationship with Oliver Tasker. The Yorkshire native lives a relatively private life, but according to Davis's social media posts, has attended multiple family functions with her and Caben and even travelled abroad with the duo.
