Woman booted off Ibiza flight after brawl with passengers who called her drunk

Shocking footage shows an Ibiza reveller brawling with other Ryanair passengers - before getting kicked off the flight.

The woman was removed from the plane before it even took off, police confirmed. Arguments had started on Monday as "angry passengers confronted a drunk woman for barging into them".

Lyndsay Cash, who had boarded the flight from Manchester Airport, filmed the woman, wearing a pink top, standing in the aisle arguing with a sitting holidaymaker before being pulled away in a headlock. Someone - it is thought the woman in pink - can be heard shouting and vowing "I will find you" repeatedly at her fellow passengers.

The angry passenger stands up to continue the slanging match mid-aisle as men believed to be family members try to hold them back. The "drunk" woman then tries to hit out before being dragged backwards by a man in green who tries to deal with the angry holidaymakers himself.

He then pushes a passenger and can be seen shouting in another's face as sitting Ryanair customers look on in shock - while small children can be heard sobbing in terror in the clip.

Lyndsay, 43, says police escorted the woman and three others off the plane, despite her trying to "fight" them, and it was met by applause from the aisles. The beautician was left annoyed as her flight was delayed by an hour-and-a-half and said some children were even in tears over the incident.

She believes Ryanair staff shouldn't have let the woman on the flight and should have done more to calm the situation rather than "leave it to passengers". She posted footage of the fight on Facebook before take-off where it earned almost 150 reactions in less than an hour.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed that one man and one woman were arrested on suspicion of being drunk on board an aircraft and assaulting police officers.

Lyndsay, from Wigan, Greater Manchester, said: "She was barging into everyone the second she got on the plane. She was drunk and when someone pointed that out she took offence and started kicking off with everyone. They just started fighting in the aisle and it got really aggressive. The stewardesses weren't much use and kids were upset. I wasn't happy with the way it was managed.

"It annoyed me and everyone else on the plane. Everyone clapped as she got escorted off and she even fought with police. I don't think she should have been let on the plane and I think the stewards should have been much quicker. It was left for the passengers to deal with. If you can't handle it, don't drink."

Lyndsay says the incident happened around 15 minutes before the plane was due to take off from terminal three at 3pm. She says the rest of the passengers stayed on the flight for it to jet off shortly past 4.30pm. Her Facebook post, sarcastically captioned "don't you just love an Ibiza flight," gained more than 80 comments in just one hour.

One user commented: "Omg! I feel sorry for the little ones on that plane. I know my little boy would have been scared. What's wrong with grown women!" A second said: "What the actual f***? They'll be gutted in the morning." A third added: "This is just pathetic. What are you, 10 years old?"

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called at around 3pm yesterday (Monday 21 August) to reports of disruptive passengers on board a flight taking off from Manchester Airport. Two men in their 30s and one woman, also in her 30s, have all been arrested on suspicion of being drunk on board an aircraft. One of the men and the woman were further arrested on suspicion of assaulting police officers. They all remain in custody for questioning."

A Ryanair spokesperson said: "This flight from Manchester to Ibiza (21 Aug) was delayed ahead of take-off when a small number of passengers became disruptive. These passengers were removed from the aircraft by local police and the flight continued safely to Ibiza following a short delay. This is now a matter for local police. We sincerely apologise to affected passengers for any inconvenience caused as a result of these passengers' disruptive behaviour."

Manchester Airport declined to comment.
