Paddy McGuinness 'looking for love' as wife Christine 'moves on' after split
Paddy McGuinness is reportedly “looking for love” following his shock split from ex-wife Christine last year.
The Take Me Out host, 50, still lives with Christine at the family home in Cheshire as they continue to co-parent their three children – twins Penelope and Leo, 10, and six-year-old Felicity.
But after Christine was spotted getting close to singer-songwriter pal Chelcee Grimes over recent months with the pair seen kissing in Ibiza, Paddy is reportedly “happy” to see his ex move on and it has apparently helped him “in the process of moving on too”.
Christine is said to be in an “elevated mood” these days and sees Chelcee as her “rock”. They have reportedly become so close that Christine “doesn’t know how she could have got through her marriage breakdown without her”.
“Paddy’s always said that whatever happens, he’ll never stop loving Christine. And while they’re no longer in a romantic relationship, they are still very close and he just wants what’s best for her,” a source told Closer magazine.
'I'm spending £20k on a new bathroom - but won't help my brother out with cash'“While they know that continuing to live together might seem unconventional, it works for them and it has brought them closer together – with Paddy able to properly getting to know Chelcee, which he wouldn’t have done otherwise.
“She’ll always be the mother of his children and he just wants her to be happy, so seeing Christine in such a good place and so full of life gives him a sense of peace and contentment that has helped him in his process of moving on too.”
Paddy is said to want to focus on “their new family dynamic” and he and Christine will continue to “navigate their marriage breakdown as peacefully and lovingly as possible”, but he also hopes to meet someone soon. The Mirror has approached reps for Paddy and Christine for further comment on this story.
Model and TV star Christine split from Paddy over a year ago but the former couple still celebrated his 50th birthday together earlier this month as they marked the milestone with a family do at home.
While Christine is said to still love Paddy and sees him as her “acting husband” as they maintain a united front for the kids, she is also reportedly “loving the freedom of not being tied down”, a pal told OK! magazine.
Announcing their surprise split in a joint statement last summer, the former couple, who were married for 11 years, said: "A while ago we took the difficult decision to separate but our main focus as always is to continue loving and supporting our children.
"This was not an easy decision to make but we're moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children. We'll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together.”
