There's nothing more exciting than deciding to welcome a dog into your home. A pooch can bring so much happiness, company and fun. Going for walks, cuddling on the sofa and spending time together is all part of it. But deciding which breed you want can be tricky.

Whether you're a big sloppy dog lover or prefer those that are small and fluffy, choosing the right breed to match your lifestyle is important for you and the dog, but one professional pooch groomer has shared the breeds you should avoid at all costs - including some of the most popular breeds out there. Branding them as 'demon' breeds, the cutest and fluffiest ones could be a nightmare.

The expert, who goes by the name The Canoodler on TikTok, detailed which pups you should avoid at all costs, including Pomeranians which they claim are "demons" and Maltese dogs, branded as "rats". As well as hitting out at Bulldog owners for not washing them enough saying they are "stinky".

They also warned that Bernese Mountain Dogs are "stubborn" and that Chihuahuas are not "perfect" and can be 50/50 with their behaviour. The video, which has racked up over three million views has caused controversy, with TikTokers asking if the dog groomer even likes pets. It's not all negative though, as they claimed that they have "no complaints" about Bichon Frise, as well as Great Dane which are "gentle giants".

Starting with Labradors, the dog groomer stated: "They're one of the most popular family dogs for a reason," adding that owners should "socialise them well" and that they "should not be obese". As well as detailing that black Labradors are "angels", the brutal dog groomer claimed that chocolate Labradors are "crazy" and golden Labradors are "fat".

The dog groomer went on to warn that Pomeranians are "demons" and said they are "very prone to post-grooming alopecia". They continued: "Can be a demon spawn. Like a small Chow Chow."

When it came to Bulldogs, they were described as "stinky" and not cleaned enough. "Weird amount of Bulldog owners don't get them neutered. [They're] not healthy, always stinky, drowning in vet bills," the expert shared. As well as Bulldogs, the dog groomer also highlighted that French Bulldogs are "unhealthy" but asked people to stop with the "albino merle and long-haired Frenchies."

Although they claimed that Border Collies were "amazing dogs", they asked owners: "Y'all city people have no business owning these unless you're prepared to stimulate them properly, 'my Border Collie has behavioural issues', no, you just got the working breed and expected it to sit in your living room all day.

Whilst the dog expert said Border Collies were "amazing dogs" they noted that if you lived in the city, you should not get one of these dogs and that Great Danes are "gentle giants, so scared of everything," but admitted they hadn't spent much time with the breed.

The video has really divided options with some protective dog owners disagreeing with the opinions. One user commented: "I have a chihuahua and when I tell people they think he must be a demon but he's so sweet and more cat than dog," while another added: "If you met my rescue Olde English Bulldog, you would change your mind on bulldogs a hundred per cent."

Others have agreed with the dog groomer's thoughts, with one saying: "The Pom one is so accurate," whilst another commented: "The border collie one is real I take mine to the beach regularly without his lead on (he's fully trained) and he STILL has energy."
