Kerry Katona 'doesn't blame' Brian for divorce but says cheating 'triggered her'
Kerry Katona "doesn't blame" her first husband Brain McFadden for splitting from her but she does believe his infidelity triggered trauma.
The former Atomic Kitten star, 42, and Brian, 43, married in 2002, just three years after they first met one another. Their wedding was nothing short of lavish given they were part of the biggest groups in music. But just four years after saying "I do", they went on to divorce.
Brian admitted that on the night of his stag do, he cheated with a lap dancer, despite initially denying the allegations and branding lap dancer Amy Barker a liar. She was offered an out-of-court settlement which her legal team deemed to be "unacceptable:" He previously said: "That stag night story started our marriage off badly and if I'm to be completely honest, the day my marriage ended was that stag night, before I even got married."

Kerry spoke candidly on the Getting Lippy Podcast about the break down of her marriage to Brian (alexpotton)It's claimed that Kerry found out about his cheating six months later in a newspaper, while he was out on tour with Westlife. Now, the mum-of-five has detailed the true toll it had taken on her.
Speaking on Slingo's Getting Lippy Gossip Show, Kerry said: "You can't force somebody to love you if someone falls out of love with you. It took me a long time to get over this but if somebody doesn't want to be with you can't force them to stay with you and Brian didn't want to be with me. I think after he first cheated on me on his stag do you know the trust had just gone.

"But now I analyse things that was a trigger for me when Brian left me because it was like me mum always tried to leave me. I met Brian and he kind of took me away from that and I went to live in Ireland, I got pregnant and I got away from all. I didn't want to be rich and famous I wanted to be a woman in love so desperately, I wanted that family unity, and that's what I realised I kept putting on my kids every time I got with a man because I thought they can't have a broken home."
Warrington-born Kerry has spoken openly about the trauma she endured growing up with her mum Sue. Growing up, Kerry's mother battled with her mental health and attempted to take her life when the singer was just three-years-old.
She was later put into a foster home and spent time in a women's refuge as a teenager. Opening up about her marriage, Kerry previously told the Mirror: "Obviously first marriage I thought it would last forever, I just went along with it. It was just fake, it wasn't real, it wasn't meant to be - it wasn't what I wanted, it was all fake and phoney."
