Sister Wives' Kody Brown reflects on divorces and says he 'could've done better'

The Sister Wives' husband, Kody Brown, has held up his hands and admitted where he's gone wrong in his relationships. The patriarch of the polyamorous family has branded his three divorces a "total rollercoaster ride," while sharing that there were "a lot of challenges."

Kody was married to Christine, Janelle, Robyn and Meri Brown. Meri, 52, confirmed her split from Kody back in January after 32 years of marriage, followed by Janelle, 54, who announced that she and Kody had parted ways. Christine, 51, shared that she had left the marriage in November 2021, leaving Robyn as the only remaining wife.

Christine has since moved on and after a few months of dating, she's got engaged to her new partner, David Woolley. Meri has bragged about her new life since the split from Kody, showing off her stunning transformation with her fans and Janelle has slammed her ex-husband and claims she is now finally living her "best life," having completed a seven-stone weight loss journey.

Meanwhile, Kody has reflected on his three divorces and has admitted that he "could have done a lot better." Talking to People, he said: "Every day I think about a place where if I would've managed things differently, if I would've said something differently, we might have moved forward in a different way. It's hard to say that because you get in a place where you feel like, ‘Is my life still headed the direction that it's supposed to?’”

He went on to claim that things fell apart when the "trust in the family started to erode" and explained that he "become cynical about the future." Kody added: "We didn't find ourselves working together the same way. I just couldn't see the future.

"It's very complicated and nuanced relationships and there's so many different angles with the different people of these iterations, it was challenging and it was sad. The unraveling of our family was just me in that leadership position stopped seeing the optimistic future," he continued before sharing that losing Christine was a "wake-up call" that left him feeling angry.

"I wasn't managing it right,” he said. “I was saying to Janelle, ‘We got to have a better relationship. We got to dig into this.’ But I wasn't feeling compassionate and loving and stuff like that. Every day you just forgive. Forgive yourself. Forgive others.

"Because we're not going back to where we were. I have to accept that. I want to get to a place where I'm accepting that with a heart full of grace and love moving forward in my life. We're all moving forward. We're all seeking happiness, and we will all find it."
