Ways to watch England in Women's World Cup final

European Champions England take on Spain in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup final on Sunday as they contest the nation's first final in the competition since 1966.

Sarina Wiegman's Lionesses are already history makers after their Euro triumph last summer but now they'll hope to go one step further and claim the biggest prize of all in Sydney this weekend. Their route to the final saw them top group D with wins over Haiti, Denmark and China.

They then overcame Nigeria on penalties in the round of 16, edged past Colombia 2-1 in the quarter-finals and dispatched co-hosts Australia 3-1 in the semi-finals earlier this week. It's been a rollercoaster of a campaign for England, but it all comes down to Sunday's final showpiece at Stadium Australia.

Here's all you need to know about the final and how to watch.

What time is the final?

Sunday's final will kick off at 11am UK time, which is 8pm local time over in Sydney.

How to watch the final

There will be plenty of places to watch the final up and down the country, including London's Victoria Park and Wembley's BoxPark. Pubs nationwide will also be showing the game, with Levelling Up Secretary Michael Gove calling on local councils to do everything they can to get them open earlier on Sunday.

For those hoping to watch the clash with Spain in the comfort of their own home, both the BBC and ITV will be broadcasting the game. BBC's coverage will be on BBC One and iPlayer with coverage starting at 9am.

ITV 1 and ITVX will also be showing the match, with their coverage starting at 9:25 am.

Team news

If England's pre-tournament injuries to Beth Mead, Leah Williamson and Fran Kirby weren't already a cause for concern, Wiegman has had further headaches to navigate throughout the campaign.

Fears Keira Walsh's tournament was over when she was stretchered off against Denmark quickly subsided as she returned in time for the round of 16, but breakout star Lauren James was then destined for a spell on the sidelines as she picked up a straight red card against Nigeria.

The Chelsea winger has missed the last two games through suspension as a result, but it will be a welcomed sight to see her back in the squad on Sunday as she's available for selection again.
