King Charles and Prince Harry could meet for peace talks as early as next month, but Meghan Markle isn't expected to be there, a royal source has claimed.

Prince Harry is due to fly back home to California via London when the Invictus Games ends in Germany. Both the King and the Duke of Sussex will be in London, meaning the pair could meet in hopes of mending tensions within the family.

A palace source has said that King Charles will return from Balmoral in the middle of September and isn't expected to travel to France until September 20. Staff are reportedly drawing up plans for the pair to meet for talks on September 17.

The source told OK! : "King Charles is due to return to London from Balmoral in the middle of September which ties in with the end of Harry’s Invictus Games trip to Dusseldorf. The King has a rescheduled official visit to France on September 20 so has a few days to spare in London to meet with his son. Staff are trying to fine-tune the details as we speak."

If the pair do meet, it would be the first time they would have seen each other since Charles' coronation in May. However, it would be the first personal meeting between father and son since Harry's controversial memoir Spare was released in January.

Meghan isn't expected to be at these talks, but she will be at the Invictus Games with Harry. The Mirror contacted Buckingham Palace and the Sussexes for a comment.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to enter the stage during the closing ceremony of the games in Düsseldorf, Germany, next month. Harry, 38, will give a goodbye speech at the closing ceremony of the event being held in Merkur Spiel-Arena on September 16. It comes as the trailer for their new Netflix documentary called Heart of Invictus has dropped and is set to be about Harry's inspirational Invictus Games.

Meanwhile, Meghan, 42, will host the 'Lifestories Scene' segment, which provides insight into the bravery and resilience of the injured servicemen and women competing.

She's expected to give a 'poignant' contribution and serve as a testament to the games' ability to transform lives, organisers said, The Telegraph reports.

The Netflix docuseries will become available on the streaming platform from August 30. The Paralympic-style games for injured and sick military personnel and veterans were founded by Harry in 2014. The show was one of the first to be announced after the Sussexes signed their multi-million dollar deal with Netflix but it is just coming to air almost three years after the contract was signed. The trailer for the show starts with a speech by Harry that he gave at the opening ceremony of the games last year in the Netherlands.

It then cuts to footage of some of the competitors training for the event and focuses on some of the competitors talking about their own experiences. It even shows one Ukrainian coach on a video call talking about the war in the country as shelling can be heard in the background.

Footage from the games is then shown alongside Harry giving a speech where he says: "If your goal was to make your country proud, you've done it. If your goal was to make your family happy, you've achieved it. You are people of substance, of resilience, of strength, you have the heart of Invictus." The show will follow the stories of six Invictus competitors and Harry has been its executive producer.
