Liverpool fans will have fond memories of last season's home league game against Bournemouth, but once again the match won't be shown on TV.

Jurgen Klopp's team hosted the Cherries at the end of August last term, running out 9-0 winners with Luis DIaz and the now-departed Roberto Firmino both scoring twice. They lost the return game, though, with Mohamed Salah missing a penalty as Philip Billing gave Bournemouth victory.

Both Liverpool and Bournemouth drew 1-1 in their opening matches this season. Klopp's team were held away at Chelsea, while Bournemouth claimed a late point at home to West Ham.

It will be a first Premier League away game for Andoni Iraola, who took over as Bournemouth manager over the summer. However, the Basque will need to wait for his first televised fixture.

That's because the clash is not one of the 200-plus games selected for live coverage across the Premier League's three official live broadcasters Sky Sports, BT Sport and Amazon Prime Video.

Five of this weekend's Premier League games have been chosen for TV, with four on Sky Sports and one on TNT Sports. TNT is showing Manchester City against Newcastle on Saturday night, with the other TV games including Spurs v Man Utd and Crystal Palace v Arsenal.

Liverpool v Bournemouth, however, was not one of them and is duly a 3pm Saturday kick-off. Klopp's team might not have so many of those this term mind, with the Reds playing Europa League football after only finishing fifth in the league last season.

Both teams will be back in front of the TV cameras next week however. Bournemouth will host Spurs in TNT Sports' Saturday lunchtime game on August 26, with Liverpool at Newcastle in a Sky Sports game the following day.

Luis Diaz scored in Liverpool's first game of the season, having returned from injury towards the end of the previous campaign. The Colombian international also impressed against Bournemouth this time last year, and has been looking ahead to the upcoming fixture.

"First and foremost, it will be great to be back," the former Porto star told club media.. "It's the first match at Anfield for a few months and we'll be going all out to try to win and pick up the three points at home, as we always do.

"We always try to win our games, particularly at home in front of our fans. As regards to Bournemouth, I think there's never an easy game in the Premier League and they'll be tough, just like any other opponent.

"I think they might be the sort of side who will sit back a little bit and they'll try to hit us on the counter-attack, so we've got to be mindful of that. But the main thing is that we concentrate on playing our own game and it's all about having that real high-tempo intensity from minute one until minute 90 to make sure that we can deal with any of their threats and ensure we get the three points."
