Actor Ioan Gruffud has been granted a major court win amid his bitter custody battle with ex-wife Alice Evans. The former couple share daughters Ella, 13, and Elsie, nine.

In recent court documents, Ioan continued to call his ex-wife a 'child abuser' and claimed she 'continued to inflict serious emotional harm on Ella and Elsie by her statements and by interfering in my relationship with them.' He also claimed his ex-wife 'verbally abused and undermined' him in front of their children 'throughout their lives.' He previously made the same claims in a filing from June.

"Since January 2021, Alice has also encouraged and instructed them not to see me or communicate with me and she has made thousands of threatening and abusive communications to me and about me," he wrote in the declaration.

He went on to say that she has been refusing to bring their girls to therapy sessions despite it being an Order for the girls to attend. "Since separation, the girls have missed more therapy sessions than they have attended, and they have had multiple therapists," he said. Alice denied his claims in her declaration.

And now, Ioan was given a win as a Los Angeles judge granted his requests for the appointment of a child psychologist. Alice had bashed her ex-husband's "child custody evaluator" request.

Judge Josh Freeman Stinn said: "The petitioner’s (Gruffudd) request for the appointment of a child custody evaluator is granted." Ioan and Alice weren't in attendance for the hearing.

In Ioan's court filing from earlier this month, he touched on their eldest daughter filing a restraining order request against him and his partner Bianca Wallace, which was denied. The teenager previously requested a restraining order for herself and her sister Elsie against the actress for five years.

Speaking about the restraining order request, he said: "I believe Alice has used and harmed Ella, and I believe Alice was the person behind Ella's actions and TRO/DVRO request." He concluded the Declaration by saying he believes "Alice's actions are child abuse and I am gravely concerned for our children." In the filing shared on MailOnline, Evans disagreed with the allegations of her causing their children "serious emotional harm".

The actor filed for divorce from Alice back in 2021 following the fallout of their dramatic split. The former couple met during the filming of 102 Dalmatians and were married for 13 years after they tied the knot in 2007. Ever since their split, they have been embroiled in a bitter custody battle over their children.

Earlier this month, following news of her divorce being made public, Alice shared a selfie with fans on Instagram and thanked them for their support over recent years. She told her followers: "Oh happy day!! Oh happy happy happy day! I love you all. Thanks for your love, your support, your stories - those of you who are going through what I’ve been going through.

"Those of you who have it much much worse than me. Those of you who have come out the other side and are blossoming and happy and want to tell me not to give up hope. THANK YOU! Oh, and I’m finally getting excited about getting dressed up again. ( not to actually go anywhere, that’s the next step) So uh, if selfies bother you, mute me now! There may be a few on the way! And by a few, I mean a lot…"
