Lionness Alessia Russo shares how important music is for her pre-match ritual
As England’s Lionesses countdown to Sunday’s big match against Spain in Australia, we know how Alessia Russo will be getting ready for it thanks to her latest partnership with Beats. She’s the latest ambassador and has spoken out about how important listening to music is as part of her pre-match ritual - with Stormy and 50 Cent being just two of the artists she plays.
Alessia recently said “I listen to the same playlist every game day that I’ve made with Beats by Dre, it gets me in the zone and ready to perform. Music is a huge part of me as a person and a player.”
She also adds “I use music to get into the zone when I’m training or before games. I like songs that get me amped up but also have a few more chilled-out songs when I need to stay level-headed.”
The Arsenal forward will no doubt be relying on music, encouraging crowd and team mates this weekend to help win it for England and (finally) bring it home - well, we can hope so anyway.
Speaking about her relationship with Beats by Dre, Alessia also said: “I grew up wearing Beats by Dre headphones to my under-15s camps, so they bring back a lot of memories, they make your music sound so good. Music is massive on a game day.”
