Pink had an act of kindness on stage when she supported Britney Spears

Following reports that Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have separated, Pink has thrown her support behind Britney. During her stadium show, Pink changed lyrics to a song that once disparaged Britney directly.

Pink had not performed the song Don’t Let Me Get Me since 2017. It was known for having the lyrics: "Tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears. She's so pretty. That just ain't me."

The backhanded compliment did not age well from its release in 2001. Fans have long since had heated debates about the words, but now Pink has changed the lyrics during her live performance, seemingly to support Britney during the recent rumours. She sang the words "sweet Britney Spears" instead last night. Pink hasn't confirmed her intent, but one fan on Twitter proclaimed it was an act of "legends supporting legends".

Pink's lyric change came prior to claims from TMZ that Britney has been physically violent with Sam Asghari in the past. At the time, the main reports focused on the separation between the two that came just one year after their marriage.

This isn't the first time that Pink has shown her support for the princess of pop. She has also previously said that she reached out to Britney during her famous 2008 meltdown. In fact, she told Watch What Happens Live that she wished she had "reached out more" at the time. In early 2023, she took to Instagram to clear the air between them.

She said in a video: "People think I was picking on Britney on [my 2001 single] Don't Let Me Get Me, but I've always felt like a big sister to her... I'm very protective of her, and she's the sweetest person in the world. I wish her well. I cover her in light all day long."

Reportedly, Sam had confronted Britney about rumours of infidelity. While these rumours have not been confirmed, it was reported that an explosive fight began that lead to their split. It has been rumoured that Sam and Britney have both since moved out of their house in California.

Prior to the reports, Sam had posted a photo on Instagram with his mother. However, he wasn't wearing his wedding ring at the time. Britney has also since removed her ring, recently being photographed without it.

Neither Britney nor Sam have addressed the reported breakup. Instead, Britney has just posted a photo of her riding a horse and explaining that she wants to buy one. Sam has been radio silent.
