Sister Wives star Kody Brown opens up on plans to marry again after heartbreak
Sister Wives star Kody Brown has opened up on his plans to marry again after three of his four wives left him.
The 54-year-old previously enjoyed being ‘spiritually’ married to four women - Christine, Janelle, Robyn and Meri - but in the space of just 14 months, he found himself unexpectedly monogamous after three of them left, with just Robyn, 44, remaining as his sole and legal wife. His dream of living as a polygamous man ended in less than two years, and he’s spoken about his heartbreak in a new interview, as he revealed his priorities have shifted.
Kody split from his third wife Christine in November 2021 after more than 25 years together, and one year later, his second wife Janelle revealed they had separated and no longer considered themselves “spiritually” married. In January this year, Kody and first wife Meri announced the end of their relationship, although it was widely known that they hadn't been romantically involved for years.

We're not going back to where we were.”
He admitted that he and his family have endured a “lot of heartbreak”, and confessed the breakdown of his relationships with three of his wives has been messy, but he’s determined to move forward with love as he wants to “get to a place where I'm accepting that with a heart full of grace and love.”

Kody said despite going from four wives to just one, his outlook on life has remained the same, and he said he and his exes are “all seeking happiness and we will all find it.” He touched upon the difficulties his family faced living in polyamory, and acknowledged his former wives were feeling jealous and neglected, as well as problems the children faced with having four mother figures in their home.
Kody said his priorities have 'shifted' after three of his wives left him (TLC)Janelle, 54, candidly shared her reasons for leaving the family, and while she has no regrets about leaving, she said she was deeply unhappy because she “clashed on everything” with Meri. “Kody and I were amazing when it was just us, but the family dynamic was really tough,” she confessed, adding that her ideas about “how idyllic plural marriage was going to be” were shattered.
Meri, 52, is remaining optimistic about her future and “keeping the doors open and saying yes”, while Christine, 51, who had one of the longest relationships with Kody, can now look back fondly on her time within the polygamous marriage. “Just because I left, it doesn't mean we failed,” she shared.
