Amid This Morning being nominated for a National Television Award next month - the first one since Phillip Schofield's exit - one of the show's presenters is up for another major award.

ITV star Rochelle Humes, 34, joins the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Rita Ora, Gok Wan and Liverpool FC footballer Trent Alexander-Arnold in being nominated for the 2023 Ethnicity Awards as the shortlist is revealed. The UK's Eurovision Song Contest entry Mae Muller and new Doctor Who actor Ncuti Gatwa are also in the running to take home a prize.

The 2023 Ethnicity Awards shortlists sees top names from sports and showbiz nominated for efforts to promote diversity and inclusion The awards, held in partnership with HSBC UK, annually celebrates the most influential Black, Asian and minority ethnic people in the UK with prestigious accolades celebrating their achievements and work to promote diversity and inclusion.

Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton, who spoke out earlier this year about the 'traumatising' racism he suffered in school from the age of six, is recognised for his unparalleled career in motorsport and unwavering support to charity. It is estimated Hamilton donated more than £20 million to charitable causes in 2022.

Pop star turned This Morning presenter Rochelle Humes is also tipped to win big as is legendary broadcaster and fashion guru Gok Wan who away from the media spotlight has championed causes to promote equality, partially for LGBTQ+ people from minority communities.

Mae has previously responded to anti-semtism in the music industry, posting to Instagram : "To all my Jewish friends and followers, I love you. There is no place for antisemitism in this world. I'm very proud of my Jewish roots and so should you [be]."

Liverpool football player and England star Trent Alexander-Arnold, who co-founded social mobility initiative Football for Change and founded The After Academy, is nominated for Sports Personality for his high-profile stance against racism and selfless acts of kindness, such as donating his time to the An Hour For Others charity in Liverpool.

Speaking about the shortlist, Founder of the Ethnicity Awards, Sarah Garrett MBE, said: "I want to congratulate everyone on the shortlist. So many people listed on the 2023 Ethnicity Awards shortlist are continuing to do good - both publicly and privately - for minorities and people of colour across the UK. They are very deserving of their place on the shortlist. The awards in November will be a celebration of their achievements. It is going to be a fantastic night.”

Ian Stuart, CEO of HSBC UK, official partner of the Ethnicity Awards added: "HSBC UK is incredibly proud to be a long-time partner of the Investing in Ethnicity Awards, recognising people and organisations making a positive impact on diversity, equity and inclusion across the UK.

"Within our own organisation, we continue to take action to increase representation, remove barriers and help open up opportunities for all our colleagues, our customers and the communities we serve. Congratulations and good luck to all the incredible role models and change makers nominated this year."
