Jack P Shepherd has teased how he's involved in Stephen Reid's huge exit storyline from Coronation Street.

Serial killer Stephen Reid - played by Todd Boyce - has caused havoc since his arrival on the Cobbles. He's already murdered three people - Leo Thompkins and his father Teddy Thompkins, as well as his business associate Rufus.

However, so far, he has managed to avoid any visits from the police, and none of the residents are suspicious about what he's really been up to and his involvement in the deaths of so many Cobbles' residents.

Now Jack P Shepherd - who plays David Platt on the ITV soap - has teased that he has a huge part to play in Stephen's downfall storyline, but refused to reveal all about how it finally happens.

Stephen's arrival shocked the Platt family

Speaking to Digital Spy about Stephen's eventual exit, he said: "Things are getting on top of him and people are starting to find out. And I think I'm heavily involved in it, although I haven't read it yet! People have said I am.

"People have said I'm in it, so that's always nice. I'm interested to know how it ends. It'll be sad if Uncle Stephen does have to leave permanently, because it's always a shame when you lose a Platt – someone close to your family. Hopefully he just gets arrested or something, but I don't know, because he has done a lot of bad stuff and he's killed people!"

David was infamously passed over for a trip to Milan to work with a clothing factory in favour of Sarah, which has led to Stephen always resenting him for what he has done to her. It is why the pair seem very disassociated, which Jack joking that has saved David.

"David has always resented Stephen for that and it's been frosty between them both. They don't have many words with each other, which has probably saved David's life – that he hasn't had many scenes with him! They've always kept a distance. But I know 100%, when it eventually does come out, David's the first one to go: 'I always knew!'" he joked.
