Devastated mum says 'Sara should be here' after girl, 10, found dead in house
The devastated mum of a 10-year-old girl found dead at a house in the early hours of the morning has paid an emotional tribute to the popular schoolgirl.
Police first launched a murder investigation after police were called to an address in Hammond Road, Woking, at around 2.50am on Thursday morning following a concern for safety. On arrival, the girl who is yet to be formally identified, was sadly found dead inside the property. Her family has been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Detectives from Surrey Police and Sussex Police ’s Major Crime Team have identified the trio of people they would like to speak to as part of their enquiries.
Surrey police, which did not give any further information about the victim or the three people, said officers are still at the address and that no arrests have yet been made.

She told the Sun: "My life will never be the same again. Sara should be with me right now. She was too young. Sara was an amazing child. She had lots of friends at school and she would get on with anyone. Whenever I picked her up I would hear kids shouting ‘Bye Sara’.
“Sara was invited to every birthday party in the class and every sleepover, she was so outgoing, much more social than me.”
She described her as a 'cheeky' girl and fan of Frozen Disney films as well as keen on arts and crafts and trips to the zoo with friends.
She said: "Sara was so beautiful. She was artsy, she loved building and making things. We’d go to Hobbycraft and buy everything that she wanted for supplies. Sara always stayed close to me. She’s the one daughter that I have, and I always wanted a daughter."
It comes as police said three people sought by detectives were known to the victim. Surrey Police have said they believe the trio left the country on Wednesday, a day before the child was discovered at a house in the quiet village of Horsell.
After launching a murder investigation, a police spokesman said: “Inquires are ongoing to locate the three identified people we would like to speak to in connection with our investigation into the death of a 10-year-old girl in Woking. Detectives have confirmed that no other people were present at the address when they attended in the early hours of Thursday morning. The three people they would like to speak to were known to the victim.”
A post-mortem examination is due to take place on Tuesday afternoon and formal identification of the girl has yet to take place.
