Tensions run high as Bob turns violent in Emmerdale over Wendy's affair

Emmerdale is set for explosive scenes next week as Wendy Posner decides to hand in her notice of resignation to Liam Cavanagh after their affair was exposed. Wendy is grateful for Liam’s understanding as she is keen to repair her relationship with Bob Hope, who is still furious about their betrayal.

However, things go from bad to worse when Bob notices Wendy and Liam leaving Tenants cottage together as he assumes their affair is ongoing. In a spoiler clip released, it sees Bob shout: "Oh, looky here! Now, why am I not surprised?" Liam tries to calm down the situation as he says: "Okay, Bob, you need to calm down, okay? Now once again, you're jumping to conclusions. Now Wendy just popped in!"

To which Bob retorts: "Popping in! That's what you've been calling it, is it? Yeah? Yeah, you two have been doing a lot of popping in these last couple of months, haven't you? Were you popping in and popping out, popping in and popping out just now, in there?" Liam is quick to shut down the accusations, saying: "If you carry on like this, I promise you, you're going to regret it."

But Bob gets the wrong end of the stick as he thinks Liam is threatening him, he then argues: "He's threatening me. Come on then, come on, come on! Bust my jaw, come on, break my nose! Come on, you've hurt me every other way! Why don't you just hit me? Well if you won't [hit me]" to which Bob then punches Liam in the face instead.

Despite the villagers' best efforts to calm him, Bob lobs the ball at Liam but soon panic sets in as Bob suffers a heart attack, and he dramatically leaves the village in an ambulance. It's not long until the blame game begins with both Wendy and Liam feeling terrible. The next day, Wendy’s relieved when Bob starts to stir in his hospital bed. He’s emotional as he recalls his heart attack.

Mustering all her strength, Bernice Blackstock encourages Brenda Walker not to blame Wendy and focus on Bob’s health instead. At the hospital, Liam tentatively apologises to Bob for the affair. But will Bob forgive and is he being truthful about everything?
