Corrie fans 'work out' next Rovers barmaid after spotting behind the scenes clue

Coronation Street fans think they have figured out an upcoming Rovers Return Inn twist on the hit ITV soap.

It comes after newcomer, Stephanie Davis, who plays Courtney Vance, shared a behind-the-scenes snap. Fans will recall that Corrie revealed the new buyers of the Rovers Return Inn on Friday night with Newton & Ridley taking over.

Prior to the reveal, Jenny Connor had been struggling to manage the rising bills throughout the ongoing cost of living crisis on the cobbles and was worried she might have had to close for good. Jenny had been trying to reduce the portion sizes to save money, but that didn't go down well with her loyal customers. As a final resort, Jenny reached out to brewery owner Philip Newton and his son Henry for help. However, Jenny was disheartened to learn they do not want the venue.

Yet this all changed on Friday as Gemma Winter finally decided to accept a job with her ex-partner Henry as his PA as it was the one condition for the brewery to buy the pub. Fans will recall that Gemma was in a dilemma about saving the pub as if she accepted the job, it could risk her marriage to Chesney Brown, who isn't a fan of Henry.

A delighted Henry later called in at the Rovers and told a beaming Jenny that they've had a change of heart and the brewery would like to buy the Rovers. Jenny then relayed the news in the Rovers, announcing Newton & Ridley are buying the pub and everyone's jobs are safe.

However, viewers think there could be a Rover's twist coming up as Courtney star Stephanie, 30, who joined the cobbles in July, posted an Instagram photo of herself behind the iconic pub as she penned: "The Rovers Return" with a heart hands emoji. Fans were quick to suggest that Stephanie's character, Courtney, could maybe be in secret cahoots with Newton & Ridley, therefore could also become the owner and even the new landlady.

One person said: "Suits you I think Courtney should buy the pub and be the new Landlady", a different account put: "Are u taking over the rovers xx, another viewer wrote: "Suits you being a barmaid could I possibly predict new owner of the rovers? Hopefully. Your such a gifted and natural actress and so beautiful. Amazing x" while a different fan added: "Will we see as the next landlady of the Rovers Return?"
