Singer Rita Ora takes on an intimidating 15,000 ft drop as she films alongside adventure guru Bear Grylls for his new TV show.

Filming for Bear Grylls: The Challenge, which will air via National Geographic on Disney+, Rita is the latest celebrity to take part. Previous guests include Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch, Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman, Marvel star Simu Liu and Little Women actress Florence Pugh.

In Rita's new clip, the 32-year-old Masked Singer judge can be seen screaming as she jumps out of the plane at 15,000 feet descending into the Valley of Fire in Nevada below. Landing safely alongside presenter Bear, he teaches Poison singer Rita how to navigate unknown terrain, find water and even prepare a pigeon dinner over a campfire.

In the episode, which will air tonight (Sunday 13 August), Rita explores the wild terrain of Nevada alongside Bear. It's a stark contrast to her usual busy lifestyle of performing and recording new music including her third album You & I which is storming the charts.

The star's wedding pictures from marriage to husband, Oscar-winning New Zealand director Taika Waititi, have finally dropped nearly a year after the couple wed in Palm Springs in August last year. The pictures from their intimate ceremony have now been shared with Vogue.

Earlier this month Rita admitted to feeling bothered by media scrutiny in the past, especially when it impacts her family and friends. From her romance with reality star Rob Kardashian to her feud with DJ Calvin Harris and her secret nuptials last year, Rita's relationship history has arguably received a lot of attention in the tabloids.

It's hard to ignore the scrutiny as Rita told Tatler in July: "If my loved ones or those closest to me are reading something and it doesn’t sit right with them, it kind of hits me."

She added: "But I don’t [waste time thinking] about what people think of me because of that. You can’t control what people think of you, especially when you’re in the public eye, but I’m waiting for a man to be dissected for all the girlfriends he’s had."

Her comments are similar to those she made when she also criticised the media for fixating on her personal life during a 2022 interview with Louis Theroux. Speaking with the British documentary maker, she added: "I’ve always been very adamant on focusing on me and my work. Look, we are women. Men don’t get asked, ‘Oh, you’ve had 100 boyfriends or girlfriends’. Sometimes they do, but the majority of the time they don’t. It comes with the territory, it’s part of the world that you’re in."

Rita's episode airs on Sunday 13 August National Geographic and is available to watch on Disney+.
