Gogglebox's Jenny Newby welcomes third great-grandchild and shares sweet name

Gogglebox's Jenny Newby has become a great-grandma for the third time. The TV legend, 67, announced the news on her Instagram account, which she shares with co-star Lee Riley. Sharing an adorable photo of Jenny with her new great-granddaughter, the social media post also announced the newborn's sweet name.

The caption read: "Congratulations Jenny on your new great granddaughter Olive-mae more babysitting duties I think xx" with laughing and heart emojis. Jenny's fans and Gogglebox co-stars were quick to share their well-wishes as Izzi Warner put: "Congratulations Jenny she’s absolutely adorable xx", Ellie Warner wrote: "Congratulations Jenny and family" while Dave and Shirley Griffiths added: "Congratulations lovely girl love dave and shirley xxx."

Elsewhere, one fan commented: "Congratulations, she is beautiful", a different account put: "Congratulations on the new arrival. She’s beautiful" with a heart emoji, another person said: "Ah so lovely xx congratulations" while a different account added: "Congratulations on the birth of your great granddaughter! I love her name."

It comes as fans were left delighted in May when Jenny's two other great-grandchildren joined her and Lee while they watched telly for a quick cuddle before bed. Lee couldn't help but troll his best friend by encouraging the youngsters to call her "old" and "wrinkly".

Jenny's adorable great-granddaughter told Lee she called her great-grandmother "grandy" and then hilariously informed her it was her hair and her glasses that made her old. Lee then chimed in, "and her wrinkly skin?"

Viewers of the show were delighted to see Jenny's family and rushed to Twitter to comment on the hilarious yet adorable scene. "Oh how cute are Jenny’s grandchildren! #gogglebox," wrote one fan while another added: “Jenny is a great grandma? Never! She looks far too young. #Gogglebox.”

Since first appearing on the Channel 4 show in 2014, Jenny and Lee have become Gogglebox royalty, winning fans over with their hilarious double act from their caravan in Hull. The much-loved duo go way back, first meeting when Jenny was the landlady of a pub Lee was a regular customer in.

Since meeting at The Crown Inn in Hull, the armchair critics have become inseparable - with Lee even describing his longtime pal as family in the past. In June, Jenny and Lee revealed to fans that they had been living it up in Cyprus alongside Lee's long-term partner, Steve Mail. Jenny stayed at Lee and Steve’s property, which they have made a "home away from home" in Cyprus.
