Aaron Judge returned to scoring form for the New York Yankees in a big win over the Miami Marlins in Major League Baseball.

The Yankees won 9-4 on Friday night in the first of the three-game series. Judge scored one run which came from a 464-foot home run but only saw one run scored with no players being on base at the time.

Judge is still in the early stages of recovering from a foot injury that kept him sidelined for multiple weeks. The American sustained the injured while colliding with a fence making a catch against the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 3.

The 31-year-old made his return from injury against the Baltimore Orioles on July 28. However, Judge admitted at the time that he still was not at 100 percent as he continued his recovery, but that has not stopped him from playing his part to help the team.

Two weeks later and Judge’s influence on the Yankees is making more and more prominent. He was joined by Anthony Volpe who scored one run, with Giancarlo Stanton, Greg Allen, Jake Bauers, Harrison Bader (2), Kyle Higashioka and Oswaldo Cabrera also scoring runs.

Volpe in particular was impressed with what he saw from Judge against the Marlins. In particular the home run, which he explained why it was different from other homers he has seen scored.

“That’s a different type of home run, that’s for sure,” Volpe told . “It’s so easy when it just jumps off the bat, like everyone knows. It’s fun to watch.”

The Yankees have struggled for large portions of the season, and currently stand 60-56 in the AL East in fifth place. The Boston Red Sox, the Yankees' long-time rivals, are in fourth at 61-55 while the Orioles are 71-45 and occupy the top spot.

Getting to the post-season will still be the end goal for the Yankees, and Judge is thrilled to see the team scoring plenty of runs.

“Any time we can add more runs, they feel great,” said Judge. “The past couple of games, we’ve had guys on base. We just haven’t been able to get that big hit.

“Today we were able to get a couple of clutch hits.”

Next up for the Yankees is the second of the three-game series against the Marlins. After that will be another three-game series against the Atlanta Braves, before Aaron Boone’s team face the Red Sox at Yankee Stadium in three games.
