EastEnders fans 'work out' sinister Debbie twist with 'deadly' Reiss consequence

EastEnders fans think they have figured out a sinister upcoming twist involving Reiss Colwell and his wife Debbie with deadly consequences. Earlier this week, fans saw Reiss appearing to commit a horrifying crime, as he stole thousands of pounds from his wife to pay for his and partner Sonia's IVF treatment. Claiming to have a savings account with enough funds in it for the treatment, it turned out the account actually belonged to his wife Debbie, who is in a care home after suffering a stroke while in the bath some time ago.

Debbie is unable to move or communicate, while Reiss explained he was no longer able to give her the full-time care she needed. Debbie remains in a coma at the care home, with Reiss often visiting her with it not known whether she will ever recover. Fans now think that Debbie could play a vital part in the BBC One soap's explosive Christmas storyline. Viewers will recall that earlier this year, EastEnders released a first look at the 2023 festive episode in a flashforward scene, where Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon (Letitia Dean), Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Suki (Balvinder Sopal) were faced with a dead body.

Not much was said between the six of them, but Stacey was covered in blood, Denise was holding a smashed bottle of Champagne and Sharon wore a bloodied wedding dress as she leant over the body, confirming the person was dead. However, it’s unclear whose body it is and what’s happened to them but this hasn't stopped fans from speculating. Viewers now think that Debbie could wake up, realise Reiss has stole her money and kill her husband in a chilling twist with his body the dead person at Christmas.

Taking to social media, one person said: "OK wild theory, Debbie will wake up from coma to find that Reece has fleeced her to get Sonia pregnant and she kills him in a fit of rage in the Queen Vic on Christmas day. I did say it's a wild theory" to which a different account replied: "Debbie will wake up at some point surely otherwise why show him visiting her". Elsewhere, another fan responded: "She's going to wake up. I love your theory x" with a different viewer adding: "That could really happen. Roll on Xmas. I can't wait till Christmas day."
