Emma Bunton has celebrated her "gorgeous" son Beau's 16th birthday with a special post.

The Spice Girls singer tends to keep her sons off her social media page but she has made an exception as she shared a photo alongside her eldest child. The 47-year-old shares two children – 16-year-old Beau and Tate, 12 – with husband Jade Jones.

Surprising fans by posting the picture, Emma said how proud she was of her boy as she included a picture of him holding large birthday balloons that said his age. She captioned the photo: "My gorgeous boy is 16! We are bursting with pride @beaubuntonjones at the man you have become. Loving, king and the light in our family. We love you so much."

However, Beau faced away from the camera as Emma makes an effort to keep her children's personal lives private.

This comes after Emma had surprise reunion with Melanie C. The pair took to the stage to perform 2 Become 1 at The Grand Prix Ball after Mel was scheduled to perform alone.

But the audience weren't disappointed when Emma joined in. Emma looked as stunning as ever in a green maxi dress, while Mel wore a pair black tracksuit bottoms, paired with some white trainers and a black crop top.

The duet has caused people to think that the rumours that the Spice Girls may be reuniting for Glastonbury next year could be true. Mel C performed at the festival on her own this year when she was asked by BBC Radio 6's Matt Everitt on BBC Radio 6 whether the Spice Girls would reunite.

She replied: "Like I said to the audience, doing a couple of Spice Girls songs, 'a bit of a warm-up for next year?' They're rehearsed, they know the words, they're ready. So, if I can drag the other girls along... I say 'drag' the other girls along - all of the Spice Girls would like to play Glasto, that is the truth."
