Helen Flanagan hints she has a new man - while wearing engagement ring from ex
Helen Flanagan has opened up on her thoughts about dating, marriage, and why she still wears her engagement ring despite her relationship with footballer Scott Sinclair collapsing last year.
The 33-year-old Coronation Street star was in a relationship with 34-year-old Bristol Rovers winger Scott for 13 years, becoming engaged in May 2018, and welcoming three children together. But the romance came to an abrupt end in October 2022 - but Helen is keeping the engagement ring he proposed to her with firmly on her.
The soap actress said that she was keeping her ring on - although she revealed she wears it on her right hand, rather than on her wedding finger - as she had to wait so long for Scott to propose. The star got candid with fans by sharing her throughs on her romantic life via social media.
Sharing video clips on Instagram Stories on Thursday, Helen said: “I still wear my engagement ring and Nana’s wedding ring because I love it. I wear it on the other hand. It’s part of my journey - also it took him [Scott] bloody long enough to put it on my finger. Typical Scott!”

I was like ‘this is our 2nd child, where’s my ring?’ Honestly, so yes, I’m not taking it off my finger.”

While Helen is keeping coy as to whether she has yet embarked on a new romance, she says she is unsure about entering a serious relationship and confirmed she is absolutely not ready to settle down currently. The mum-of-three said: “Now I think would I want to be in a full blown relationship with someone, talking about marriage? Absolutely not ready for that no. No, no, no! I’m really enjoying this time where I’m being able to be just myself.
“You have to learn to give yourself that love. When you are feeling like ‘where’s my man’ no, no, you have to give yourself that love. It does sound cringe, but it’s true. So that’s what I’m trying to do.”
Helen explained she wants to give herself some time for herself. She said: “You’re the most beautiful when you are focused on your goals, your work, working on you, I think is always the most attractive."
She did, however, go on to hint that she has dipped her toes back into the dating pool - but didn't explicitly state if she is or isn't dating someone currently.
She confessed: “I don’t think I’m ready to talk about dating - I will at some point, not at the moment – but I did find someone who was really kind to me and we’re really good friends still. He made me feel beautiful and special, which was nice. It’s really important who you choose to spend your time with.”
