It seemed as if the good feeling around Arsenal's title charge had all but evaporated following three league games without a win and a damaging defeat by title rivals Manchester City.

However, it is amazing what a late victory can do, with the Gunners now back on top following their dramatic, last-gasp 4-2 triumph over Aston Villa last Saturday. Just like that, all appears to be well over at the Emirates once again as Mikel Arteta aims to end Arsenal's 19-year wait for a league title.

Next up is another tricky away test at Leicester City, who will be desperate to bounce back after they were humiliated at the hands of Manchester United last Sunday. Arteta is faced with a number of fitness concerns, with midfield talisman Thomas Partey still a doubt having missed the last two contests.

Mirror Football has collected three of the main headlines and talking points surrounding the Gunners on Thursday, February 23.

Arsenal's newest recruit Jorginho has admitted that Granit Xhaka generously paid for the Italian's dinner shortly after he signed for the Gunners despite the previously frosty relationship between the two of them.

As recently as last October, the pair clashed on the pitch during Arsenal's 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge back when Jorginho was still donning the blue of Chelsea.

Pressed for comment on whether he was happy to now consider the tough-tackling Swiss a team-mate, Jorginho told BeIN Sports: "Yes, I'm happy. We had a few fights on the pitch before but outside of the pitch, he’s a really nice guy and we have good laughs now.

"Yes, outside of the pitch [Xhaka is different]. I asked him the other day where I could go for dinner around here and he booked me and didn't let me pay as well. I was like 'Ok, thank you very much.' [laughs]. So yes he's a really, really nice guy and I'm glad I can see this other part of him."

Thierry Henry changes stance on Arsenal takeover

Despite being linked with an effort to buy the Kroenkes out with the help of Spotify owner Daniel Ek in 2021, Gunners legend Thierry Henry has since revealed he is happy with the state of Arsenal nowadays.

Henry was thought to have helped Ek launch a bid worth £1.8billion to try and buy his former club, though it was swiftly rejected by Kroenke Sports Entertainment.

Speaking on the House of Champions Podcast, Henry said: "At the time (Ek) wanted to offer a solution to the fans, who were all saying 'sell, sell, sell' but sell to who. We offered a solution, it wasn't meant to be.

"I'm an Arsenal fan, let's win. It doesn't matter. We were there to offer a solution, you want it, you don't want it, it doesn't matter."

This deal means he keeps his status as the longest-serving player of the current Gunners crop, one of just three to feature under all three of Arsene Wenger, Unai Emery and Arteta.

However, it hasn't all been smooth sailing for the Egyptian, who once responded to social media criticism by writing: "I need you to support me - not to put me down. Supporter means you have to support."

Fast forward two years and Elneny has signed a new contract, with morale sky high and has publicly praised the togetherness within the Arsenal squad.

Speaking to the club website, he said: "I'm so happy, I love this club and our supporters so much and I'll give everything to help us be the best we can be, every day I'm here.

"It makes me so proud to have represented this amazing club since 2016. The spirit and togetherness we have in our squad right now is so positive and I'm so happy I have extended my contract."
