Little Mix star Perrie Edwards finally shares her son's adorable full name
Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has finally revealed her son's full name, nearly two years after his birth.
The singer, 30, welcomed her first child with her footballer fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, 29, in August 2021. The couple are proud parents to Axel, who will celebrate his second birthday on August 21. When announcing his birth, Perrie and Alex revealed Axel's name. Alongside an adorable pics of her newborn, the singer wrote on Instagram at the time: "2 weeks of loving you. I’ve never felt love like this before! Axel Oxlade-Chamberlain."
However, the Black Magic hitmaker has only just revealed Axel's middle name. Taking part in a Q&A session with fans on Instagram, one follower asked Perrie: "How did you decide on the name Axel for your baby?" The former X-Factor star replied: "His name is Axel Xander, like his dadda Alexander."
The couple will be gearing up for birthday celebrations very soon and last year they treated fans to a series of unseen photos and clips. Sharing numerous sweet pics of Axel's first yet, Perrie wrote: "A whole year of Axel. Memories to cherish forever." Perrie concluded the caption by writing: "I love you my absolute joy, you'll always be my baby boy."
The video began with footage of Perrie and Alex -who got engaged earlier this year- lying on beds in the hospital room as they waited for their baby to arrive. It moved forward to show photos of newborn Axel, including photos of him being held by his parents - with one showing Perrie cradling her son whilst standing in front of his crib.
Liverpool add three players to Champions League squad as summer signings removedPerrie's Little Mix bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock welcomed twins with footballer fiancé Andre Gray around the same time, but she is yet to reveal their names simply referring to them as “our cubbies”. Perrie recently sparked rumours of a feud when she was noticeably absent from Leigh-Anne’s surprise wedding to Andre in Jamaica last month. The rumours continued when she failed to turn up to the launch party of Leigh-Anne’s solo single, with the 31-year-old seemingly addressing her absence by telling the crows: “Jade, this girl shows up for me every f***ing time."
However, Leigh-Anne dismissed the reports of a rift during an interview on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, as she insisted Little Mix would be back and hadn’t split for good. She explained the hiatus was “time for us to spread our wings” as the girl group had been together for 12 years without a break.
She was then quizzed about the timeframe of Little Mix’s hiatus, as Amanda said it was “typical of most iconic bands” who go on an “amazing tour” when they reunite five years later. “We’re so tight, they are my girls and they’re always gonna to be my sisters, so of course we’re gonna do a reunion, how would we not?” Leigh-Anne replied.
Leigh-Anne, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall announced in 2021 that they would be taking a hiatus from the hugely successful girl group, and the following year, they performed their final gig at London’s O2 to close their Confetti tour, breaking the hearts of millions of fans.
