Rebecca Adlington has set her sights on Strictly Come Dancing following the success of several Olympic swimmers on the show.

The swimmer who competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London games is no stranger when it comes to pushing herself and has two Olympic golds under her belt. But the 34-year-old is hoping to push herself out of her comfort zone and swap the pool for the dancefloor.

Mum-of-two Rebecca who recently took part in the inaugural Baby TRYathlon with SMA Pro Follow-on Milk and Growing up Milk admits that while she can't dance, she'd be happy to try.

Speaking to the Mirror, Rebecca said: "Literally no plans to do anything telly wise, I've done a few pieces here and there whether it's talking about swimming and exposure and all that sort of stuff, which is just great to do. The odd little things like Question of Sport and all that sort of stuff, I still love to do those things when I get asked but nothing major, no big show or anything like that.

"I'm still waiting for the day that I can please do Strictly Come Dancing, even though I can't dance." The Mansfield-born sports star went on to add: "They've had quite a lot of swimmers on in the past, Mark Foster, then Adam Peaty, Ellie Simmonds – those guys were great, I loved watching them.

"I thought Ellie did such a fab job, I loved watching her – I love watching Strictly, just for the outfits, the costumes and everything." Speaking about her partnership with the brand, Rebecca said it was "a benefit" to her as a parent who has a six-year age gap between her two children, Summer, seven, and Albie, one.

Reflecting on her journey as a mum, she said: "I've learned a lot as well as a parent I think stuff is constantly changing all the time, the advice and kind of everything else. And I think to really understanding for me the knowledge of the kind of the importance of vitamin D and iron massively shocked me, to be honest with the statistics. Almost all half are obviously deficient was really kind of shocked me, to be honest. I understand a little bit but it's really difficult."

The star welcomed her son in 2021 and she joked she "didn't know how to deal with a newborn" due to the age gap and the ever-changing advice and guidance for parents. "I think that's why with SMA Nutrition, just highlighting that vitamin D that iron and just kind of the statistics around that. It's not saying 'This is what you have to do' because every parent is different, and every family is different."
