Former Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor will soon be seen in a new erotic thriller alongside American actor Alden Ehrenreich – with scenes that are being described as her raunchiest yet.

The 28-year-old British actress set pulses racing when she played Daphne Basset in the first season of Netflix fantasy period drama Bridgerton – which became notorious for it’s racy sex scenes. But now the star is set to appear in a new film that is being pitched as an exploration of sex, money and power.

The TV star will play a character named Emily in a new film called Fair Play – which will have a cinematic release in October and then be available to stream via Netflix the following week. A trailer for the film, which is written and directed by Chloe Domont, has been unleashed.

Footage shows Phoebe as Emily and Alden as her on-screen fiancé Luke appearing loved up and romantic – with steamy scenes showing the pair passionately kissing and wrapped up in bed naked together. However, strict work policies that ban inter-office flings appears to cause the couple no end of strife.

An official synopsis of the film states: "When a coveted promotion at a cutthroat financial firm arises, once supportive exchanges between lovers Emily (Phoebe Dynevor) and Luke (Alden Ehrenreich) begin to sour into something more sinister.

"As the power dynamics irrevocably shift in their relationship, the couple must face the true price of success and the unnerving limits of ambition."

Phoebe – who is the daughter of 60-year-old Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor – has previously opened up about filming sex scenes for TV. Back when she was starring on Bridgerton, she said: "In a lot of the Regency stuff we've seen in the past, we see a very composed woman.

"There's not much sexuality there. It's very much the male gaze. I wanted to make [Daphne] feel modern and have sexual desires, as women do, and have a lot going on that isn't surface level."

One scene that drew particular attention form streaming fans was a scene where Phoebe’s character, Daphne, pleasured herself. Recalling filming that moment, the British star said: "That was the hardest scene to shoot. That's saying something, because there were a lot of difficult scenes to shoot. You feel very vulnerable in those scenes.

"We did the intimate scenes like stunts — we blocked them out, so you have yoga balls in between you and all sorts of things that never make you feel exposed in any way. You always feel safe. I'd rehearse with [co-star Regé-Jean Page] so much that we both knew what we were doing. It felt very practical."
