Jada Pinkett Smith has given a look at her hair’s "come back" following her alopecia diagnosis. The star has given an update on her struggle with alopecia. She took to her Instagram page where the actress shared two selfies with her 11.4 million followers on the platform.
She revealed that her hair is starting to grow back as she wrote: "This here hair is act’n like it’s try’n a make a come back. Still have some trouble spots but — we’ll see. Slide 1: Past. Slide 2: Present." Fans took to the comments to say how great the actress looked.
One person commented: "Radiantly beautiful through and through," as another said: "Beautiful either way." A third wrote: "Looking good sis." While a fourth simply added: "Gorgeous."
Jada has been open about living with the autoimmune disorder, revealing her diagnoses in 2018. Speaking on Red Table Talk, the 51-year-old said: "I’ve been having issues with hair loss. It was terrifying when it first started. I was in the shower one day and had just handfuls of hair in my hands and I was just like, 'Oh my God, am I going bald?'"
"It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking in fear," she added. In July 2021, she debuted a buzzcut, after being inspired by her daughter, saying, "Willow made me do it because it was time to let go."

Jada captioned the video: "Now at this point I can only laugh. Y’all know I’ve been struggling with alopecia. Look at this line right here … it just showed up like that. And this is going to be a little bit more difficult for me to hide, so I thought I’d just share it so y’all not asking any questions.
"Mama’s gonna have to take it down to the scalp so nobody thinks she got brain surgery or something … Me and this alopecia are going to be friends … period."
Jada's alopecia was talked about at the 2022 Oscars when host Chris Rock made a controversial joke about it saying that Jada could star in "G.I. Jane 2". This led to her husband and fellow actor Will Smith walking on stage and slapping the comedian.
