EastEnders fans thrilled as legend returns after six years with bombshell news
EastEnders aired a big return on Monday night, sending fans into meltdown. Weeks on from the news a popular character would be heading back to Walford, a soap legend made her comeback in scenes that aired on the BBC soap in the latest episode.
Yolande Trueman returned to the show after six years away, last seen on screen in 2017. Prior to this, Yolande left Walford for good in 2008 and moved to Birmingham, where she has remained for the last 15 years.
The fan favourite had some bombshell news for her ex-husband Patrick Trueman too. She revealed that things had ended with her partner and she'd been thrown out of the house. She asked Patrick if she could stay with him, but he soon rejected the idea.
Patrick had recently gone to try and win her back, while it seems this did not go to plan. Yolande confessed she and Patrick had slept together behind her partner's back, but he discovered the truth and dumped her. Now Yolande is back and keen to try again, but will things work out?
Viewers were thrilled to see her back, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts. One viewer said: "Exciting to see Yolande back," as another wrote: "Yolande is back," with a smiling emoji. A third fan added: "SO lovely to see Yolande back. it’s like she’s never been away! Really, really hoping this return is permanent."

Spoilers for later this week reveal that Kim Fox urges Patrick to fight for his ex, with him confessing just months ago that he wanted to win her back. Denise then begs Patrick to take the chance to tell Yolande how much he cares before she leaves forever.

Actress Angela Wynter recently revealed all about what brings Yolande back, and what her future may look like. Teasing whether her and Patrick will reunite for good, the actress spilled on her big comeback. She said: "It’s really nice. I love the character. I’m really pleased to get the chance to play her again. There’s so many new faces, but I have been welcomed back so wonderfully."
On reuniting with her co-star Rudolph Walker who plays Patrick, she added: "Heaven as usual. We have a lovely time filming, and I’m looking forward to exploring their relationship, especially as an older woman now. I’m looking forward to exploring seeing if they can grow old together, where the gentleness is, where the fragility is.
"It’s nice to show an older, loving and sometimes sassy couple growing older together. I’m interested in the family dynamic and how Yolande will fit into the family and the larger community outside the family. I don’t think she’s ever not had feelings for Patrick.
"I think she’s always loved him and thought she was going to greener pastures with Anton, but the greener pastures have failed her. She’s realising that Patrick is the true love of her life, and he loved her honestly and truly. So in older age, Yolande wants to rekindle that with someone she can actually count on."
