Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce revealed he is bringing wife Kylie’s obstetrician to next week’s Super Bowl clash against the Kansas City Chiefs just in case she gives birth during the game.

The Kelce’s share two young daughters together and are expecting another girl shortly, with Kylie set to be 38 weeks pregnant when the Super Bowl takes place in Arizona next Sunday. It means the Eagles center has had to adequately prepare for any outcome.

Kelce told brother Travis, who stars for the Chiefs as a tight end, on their podcast that he needed to allocate tickets for family members as well as his wife’s doctor. The duo will make NFL history when they take to the field to become the first siblings to play against one another in the Super Bowl.

“Kylie’s bring her OB-GYN because she’s going to be 38 weeks pregnant at the game,” Jason said. “That could be the Super Kelce Bowl. If she has the baby in the stadium, it’s officially scripted. We’re in the Matrix,” Travis replied. “There’s no f****** way.”

The 35-year-old’s decision to bring Kylie’s obstetrician is certainly understandable after Van Jefferson’s wife Samaria was rushed from Super Bowl LVI on a stretcher to deliver their son at hospital. The Los Angeles Rams star was sensationally informed his wife was in labour and rushed to be by her side amid the celebrations.

In last Sunday’s AFC Championship win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Travis caught a touchdown while Jason anchored the offensive line as the Eagles ran all over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game. The brothers each have a Super Bowl ring already after the Eagles won in 2018 while the Chiefs conquered the NFL a year later, but one will have long-term bragging rights as well as a second title.

Jason quickly fired a warning to his sibling after the Chiefs defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship, posting: “Officially done being a Chiefs fan this season!!”

His post on Twitter came hours after Jason told reporters he was pulling for the Chiefs in the AFC Championship - but his fandom ended there. The 35-year-old said: “I’ve got a Kansas City sweatshirt I’m gonna wear for the next three hours, and then that’s it for the rest of the year. Win or lose, I’m done being a Chiefs fan in three hours.”

Jason is a six-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler, while he was a key fixture for Philadelphia's 2017 Super Bowl-winning team. Meanwhile, Travis is a seven-time All-Pro and eight-time Pro Bowler who caught a career high 110 receptions for 1,338 yards and 12 touchdowns this season.

The Kelce brothers are not the first siblings to face off in any capacity at the Super Bowl, though. John Harbaugh coached the Baltimore Ravens to glory in Super Bowl XLVII over his brother Jim’s San Francisco 49ers. The Eagles will face the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona on February 12.
