Parking on busy streets can be quite a struggle, and bad parking can cause all sorts of rows, especially if you have to share the roadside parking between you and your neighbours. As you scramble to get a spot close to your front door, it can inevitably cause friction if it doesn't go to plan.

One disgruntled resident has shared the struggle they're facing with their neighbour trying to claim the public parking spots as their own, due to having three cars. As well as leaving passive-aggressive notes and putting their bins in the way to block the spaces the fed up resident is unsure what to do and has asked others online if anyone has ever been in this situation before.

Sharing their rant on Reddit, they wrote: "Anyone deal with neighbours who keep claiming public parking as "theirs"? My spouse and I only have one parking spot in the townhouse we rent so I park my car on the street as my car is smaller. Our neighbour's across the street have recently started being jerks and leaving passive notes.

"They said: "Please leave the front space available for us. Respectfully, the homeowner," these guys have three cars and a bike that all fit in their driveway...I attempted to go to their door to chat with them and of course, nobody responded so I left a note back stating that this was actually public street parking.

"And that I'd be more than happy to leave extra room for a vehicle behind me if I happen to take the front spot. I often just take whatever spot is available. I signed my name and even included my address and unit number I'm in on the off chance they wanted to speak with me and in the typical Seattle passive aggression, of course, they didn't.

"Lately these jerks are taking up two public street parking spots and have been using their trash cans and recycling bins to block the spots just enough so even if I squeeze in I'm cutting it close to being five feet within their driveway. Anyone deal with this?"

People have been quick to advise on how to relieve the tension, as one person suggests: "I’d just ignore the notes from now on. They clearly don’t intend to talk, and you’re doing absolutely nothing wrong by parking in an available public space."

"You could move the trash cans and they might "accidentally" fall over and if they don't pick up their trash "someone" might report them and they might get fined for having their trash everywhere," another Redditor jibed.
