Taylor Swift fans spot small clue that she will make huge announcement next week

Taylor Swift is in the middle of playing six sold-out shows at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Fans are convinced that these shows are just the precursor to a major 1989 (Taylor's Version) announcement or release.

She told Entertainment Weekly in 2019: "I love to communicate through Easter eggs. I think the best messages are cryptic ones... you know, when you plan something that far in advance, you're kind of just flexing on planning. That's what an Easter egg really does."

True fans are well aware of Taylor's little mind games. They've flagged plenty of suspicious references lately that could mean that the 1989 rerecording will be up next. Here's what we know...

Probably the most obvious indication of a Wednesday announcement date is the date itself. She'll be wrapping up the first run of The Eras Tour on August 9th. Coincidentally, that would make the date 8/9. Fans are banking on that being too perfect to be a true coincidence.

One fan on Twitter wrote: "Look I love how we clown for every show, but if you think about it in the most Taylor way… if there will be 1989 TV announcement, it will one trillion percent be at 8/9."

Her SoFi stadium shows are actually being recorded, too. Most likely, this will be for some sort of documentary about the tour and even the rerecording process, but details on that are unconfirmed.

In her most recent music video for her single I Can See You, there is a literal sign that seems to validate the theory. At traffic sign can be seen that reads "I-9 89 TV" which fans think is mean to be 1989 (Taylor's Version) camouflaged to fit in with the scene.

Fans also believe that they can 'feel' the 1989 era coming back. Around when Taylor was promoting and touring her original 1989 album, she took on a very specific image. She was always surrounded by a notorious 'girl gang' and was know for her Americana style and personality. Recently, Taylor has been spotted reconnecting and hanging out more with her girlfriends. She also brought back the famous Taylor Swift Fourth of July party which we hadn't seen since 2016.

If fans are right and 1989 is, in fact, the next album to be rereleased, it would go against the longstanding "The Man theory". Basically, in her music video for The Man, Taylor stands in front of a wall with all of her album names surrounding her. Up until now, the rereleased had went in a clockwise direction with the next album being Reputation.

This has left fans grappling for answers. One wrote: "I'm so confused which one is coming first Rep TV or 1989 TV??!?!"
