'Perfect' wife became 'Bahamas bad girl' and sent hitman 'kill him' pic of hubby

A woman who allegedly hired a hitman to kill her husband after he filed for divorce went from the perfect housewife to a "Bahamas bad girl' and was "living a double life" on the island with her lover, a source has claimed.

Lindsay Shiver, a 36-year-old former-beauty pageant queen and wife of former college football star Robert Shiver, was arrested and remains jailed awaiting trial after police discovered an alleged plot to kill her husband.

Investigators that looked into a theft at a bar where her lover, 28-year-old Terrance Adrien Bethel, worked, discovered a picture of her former husband that had 'Kill him' written on it. She is now being accused of hiring an alleged hitman, Farron Newbold, 29, to kill Robert Shiver, who filed for divorce after discovering her infidelity.

A friend of the family has claimed that the beauty queen was a firecracker who lived a double life and was openly together with her lover. The source told the New York Post: "She lived a double life — this Georgia housewife with the lovely kids and the Bahamas bad girl. She got caught up in something really bad. It’s sad."

They added: "From the outside looking in it was all perfect. But she was bored for a long time. Lindsay was a firecracker." Speaking of Bethel, they said: "I think she thought he was exciting, he was different. He’s a smooth guy, he likes to socialise with the tourists and the people with second homes here."

However, another source told the paper that Shiver was not serious about the alleged murder and she was only "fantasising" about it amidst a bad divorce. The source claimed: "To be honest, I’m sure she fantasised about it as the divorce got nasty and she felt desperate, but it’s just hard to believe she would think she could get away with it. I’m just really sad for those three kids, they’re wonderful."

Lindsay Shiver and Terrance Bethel allegedly began their affair while the Shiver family was residing in The Bahamas. Upon discovering the extramarital relationship, Robert filed for divorce.

However, authorities assert that Lindsay, determined to carry out her heinous plan, recruited her lover, Bethel, and allegedly hired Newbold to execute the murder. The trio appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley on Friday, where they were remanded to jail without entering a plea.

Lindsay and Robert Shiver have a history dating back to their meeting at a fitness class at Auburn University in 2007. Their relationship seemed idyllic, as evident from Lindsay's Instagram posts celebrating their love and family life, which includes their three sons, the youngest being only four-years-old.

In 2020, Lindsay Shiver wrote on Instagram, “The key to a perfect marriage, is having two imperfect people, who refuse to give up on each other. So thankful for that fitness class 13 years ago that brought us together and all of the love, laughter, and life we have created ever since! I love you babe."

Before being accused of orchestrating her husband’s killing, Lindsay Shiver was named Miss Houston County in 2005, finishing second in the National Peanut Festival pageant that year, according to the outlet.

Robert's football career took a turn after he was released from the Atlanta Falcons ahead of the 2009 season. He subsequently found a new path with Senior Life Insurance Company, where he started working in recruitment.

The Shiver family's affluent lifestyle allowed them frequent visits to The Bahamas, indulging in luxury boat rides, and even experiencing private jet travel. Robert previously said he is struggling to find the strength to tell his sons about their mother’s arrest. He said: "My kids don’t know the whole thing yet. I’m going to try to tell them in the next day or so. They’re young."
