A woman warned friends that her boyfriend was armed with a knife in a terrifying voice note sent just moments before she was stabbed to death.

Andreia Guilherme, 30, cried as she recorded herself confronting her "crazy" partner David Xavier, 38, before sending the audio to her pals.

In the harrowing clip, Andreia - who worked as a medium and tarot card reader - could be heard in a shocked state as she bravely addressed her "jealous" boyfriend inside their home in Croydon, south London.

It came after she sent a string of text messages to her loved ones which said he had "pointed a knife" at her on the night of her death on December 11 2020.

"You are abnormal! You are crazy! Coming after me with a knife," she said in the voice note. "You are disgust! You are crazy! Disgusting! Crazy! You are disgusting! I hate you! You are crazy!"

Prosecutor Paul Raudnitz KC said the audio was the final communication she made before she was killed two minutes and 19 seconds later, reports Metro. Jurors heard how Xavier then phoned his sister, who also lived in the area, to tell her that she was dead. His sister and her husband rushed to his flat and found Andreia lifeless on the bedroom floor, while Xavier held on to the bloodied kitchen knife.

The Old Bailey heard how Xavier confessed to his sister and her partner and told them: "I think I’ve killed her." He proceeded to tell them "she stabbed me so I stabbed her back", before he accused her of "betraying" him. They alerted emergency services but despite the medics best efforts, Andreia was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Jurors were told that the couple's relationship had fallen apart after Andreia became a mother. She had attempted to split up with Xavier by the time of her death. Raudnitz said Xavier had turned "increasingly jealous and angry" after Andreia tried to end their relationship and said the "attack was frenzied."

Speaking about the extent of her injuries, the prosecutor added: "Andreia Guilherme sustained over 50 stab wounds to the front and back of her body, some inflicted with sufficient force so as to damage her internal organs and leave knife marks on the bone and cartilage of her ribs. Amongst her injuries were cuts to her hand where she had tried to defend herself."

He told jurors: "Whilst Mr Xavier may have been in drink, he was not in such a state of intoxication that he was unable to form the intention to kill or to cause serious bodily injury."

Xavier was found guilty of murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment on Friday. He will serve a minimum of 18 years. Detective Chief Inspector Matt Webb, of Scotland Yard, said: "This was a horrific, frenzied attack against a woman who didn’t stand a chance. Xavier was armed with a knife and clearly enraged.

"Andreia’s family has lived through the horror of receiving those final messages on the night of her death, and, due to Xavier pleading not guilty, they were forced to relive that night again at the trial. It is right that Xavier will spend a large part of his life behind bars and while nothing can bring Andreia back, I sincerely hope that the sentence handed down, brings her loved ones a measure of comfort."
