Kanye West has hit a major roadblock in his plans to move his Donda Academy to Los Angeles, according to reports.

The rapper is said to have been planning to move the private Christian school to Cornerstone Christian Church in San Fernando Valley after attending services at the church. However, more than 12,000 angry locals have reportedly signed a petition pleading with the pastor to turn him down.

Pastor Ronald Nagin had admitted to having meetings with Kanye about the move, despite the 46-year-old facing widespread criticism for his series of anti-Semitic remarks. He was also dropped by a number of brands including Adidas and Gap following his racist outbursts.

Kanye, legally known as Ye, has previously hosted Sunday Service at the church. However, a source has claimed plans for him to move the Donda Academy have now fallen through.

"Kanye has had Sunday Service here, but now it's just the regular church, and Ronald has left as well, he's at a different place," they said. Speaking to The Sun, the source said locals would not welcome Kanye's Donda Academy.

"Because of anti-Semitism, people were very upset about the idea." they explained. A petition was launched by Faithful America to stop the musician from moving his school to the area.

The petition has so far received 12,149 signatures. It states: "Kanye West, has been losing sponsors and contracts left and right over his harmful antisemitism - yet one California pastor says Ye's recent hatred isn't a dealbreaker for their Christian business partnership."

The faith group continued: "There is no room in God's house for hatred. Allowing Ye's Donda Academy to operate out of a place of worship would give it and him credibility that at this point they do not deserve."

The petition comes after Kanye's private school was accused of violating a number of health and safety rules. According to reports, cleaning services are forbidden and doors are locked from the inside.

Two teachers who used to work at the Donda Academy in California’s Simi Valley allege they were sacked after they complained about potential dangers to students including code violations, according to an LA County wrongful termination suit. Cecilia Hailey and her daughter Chekarey Byers also claimed medications were stored haphazardly and there was no school nurse on site.

A second lawsuit from another former teacher alleged he was fired after raising concerns about unsafe working conditions. In the lawsuit, Isaiah Meadows alleged wrongful termination, claiming he was fired in August 2022 after reporting numerous safety issues.

The concerns he raised at the school included students being "exposed to the elements" because Kanye didn't allow glass to be placed in the window frames. In the lawsuit obtained by the Guardian, Meadows also claimed that the academy had "exposed telephone and electrical wiring", which he said once started a fire "near the student eating area."
