Taylor Swift has made a lot of generous donations

It was recently revealed that Taylor Swift generously gifted the production truckers working on her Eras tour huge $100,000 (£78,000) bonuses.

In return for their hard graft of hauling her performance equipment across the country, the Blank Space singer reportedly gave each of the 50 truck drivers for her North American tour the large fee, totalling a whopping $5million (£3.9million) altogether. Further reports added that Taylor also dispersed $500,000 (£392,000) between other crew members, bringing the total bonus money she gave her staff on he Eras tour up to $5.5million (£4.3million).

Her gift of gratitude to her staff made headlines across the globe. However, this isn't the first time the 33-year-old has been known to give away large sums of her $740million (£580million) net worth.

In fact, to date, the country star-turned-pop princess has shelled out millions more in bonuses and donations. Here we take a look at all the times Taylor has been generous when it comes to her hard-earned cash.

2023

Taylor recently made "generous donations" to food banks in the cities she visited during her tour. Stops included the likes of Glendale, Arizona, and Las Vegas.

No specific sum of money that Taylor donated was reported. However, a food bank in Tampa said the star donated enough cash to "place over 125,000 meals on tables".

Meanwhile, an Arizona Food Bank Network rep told AZ Central: "It's not every day that you get a call from someone who works for Taylor Swift, so we were dubious at first, but happily, it turned out to be absolutely real."

2022

Taylor delighted a group of York University students, who were part of the York Swift Society when they returned from Easter break to find the star had gifted them a massive package of merchandise.

There was also a personal message from the star herself, which read: "Hey University of York Swift Society, sending over some merchandise as a thank you for your support and also sending a big hug! Love, Taylor."

2021

In the midst of the Covid pandemic, Taylor and her mother came together to donate the entire $50,000 (£39,000) goal of a GoFundMe page for a family who needed support after their father passed away from the illness.

In December 2020, Taylor also paid an eye-watering $13,000 (£10,2000) to a GoFundMe page which supported a mother struggling to keep up with her bills during the pandemic. The woman's story was also featured in the Washington Post. While donating, Taylor commented on her page that she was brave to tell her story.

A few months earlier, in March 2022, the Love Story hitmaker donated $1million (£784,000) to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund. This was to support the recovery efforts following a string of tornadoes in Nashville that claimed the lives of 24 people and caused widespread destruction to several neighbouring counties.

In a heartbroken statement to CNN, the singer said at the time: "We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home.
