EastEnders fans left confused over Queen Vic trend as Freddie goes missing

EastEnders fans spotted a Queen Vic trend on Thursday night as Freddie Slater went missing after being left devastated over learning the truth about his dad. On Wednesday, Graham Foster made an explosive return to the hit BBC One soap. Viewers will recall that Graham, played by Alex McSweeney, befriended and raped Little Mo, which resulted in her falling pregnant with Freddie, played by Bobby Brazier.

In the hard-hitting storyline, Little Mo refused to terminate her pregnancy, which led to the breakdown of her marriage to Billy Mitchell, played by Perry Fenwick. Graham was jailed for eight years for the rape and was last seen on screen in January 2005 when Billy saw him in prison after receiving a visiting order.

And despite not being seen in Albert Square since his prison release, Graham made an explosive return on Wednesday's episode as Freddie arranged to meet him after successfully finding his place of work. During the meeting, Freddie learnt he has sisters and arranged to see his dad again. However, Freddie was still unaware of how he was conceived and the truth about Graham.

Later, after Kat Slater, Billy Mitchell and Alfie Moon learnt of Freddie meeting his dad, they sat the youngster down to finally tell him the truth, leaving him devastated. On Thursday, Freddie was left broken by the news and decided to seek solace on the roof of the Queen Vic, leaving his family sick with worry over his disappearance.

Freddie was discovered by Gina Knight, who had snuck to the roof to secretly take drugs, and she implored Freddie not to blame himself for the situation as he opened up. Elsewhere, Kat was left fearing that history could repeat itself with Zoe’s reaction to her rape etched in her memory and she called the police to report Freddie as missing.

However, in true soap style, after reporting Freddie missing... he then showed up, leaving the Slater family relieved and delighted. Freddie then took himself off to his bedroom, where he broke down in tears. He was then interrupted by a voicemail from Graham, who said he wanted to see him at the weekend and his sisters were excited to meet him. Freddie decided to delete Graham's number.

Soap watchers were quick to pick up on a Queen Vic trend as they questioned how Freddie, as well as various characters in the past, are able to keep getting to the rooftop. Fans will recall that the rooftop has been used for several past explosive storylines, including Max, Abi and Lauren Branning's Christmas storyline in 2017, as well as Bradley Branning's death in 2010.

Due to the tragic history associated with the Queen Vic roof, fans were quick to question how characters can keep getting to the location so easily. Taking to Twitter, one person said: "Sorry but how are people still able to just walk onto the roof of the vic so easily? #eastenders" with a different account adding: "Why does everyone in the square somehow have access to the roof of Vic, please???? #EastEnders."

While another viewer put: "Seriously ! The Vic roof AGAIN ! The Vic really needs to sort its security ! Absolutely ANYONE can get into that building ! #EastEnders" with a different fan adding: "Now how did Freddie get up there unnoticed… enough people have died from that roof so get down son #EastEnders."
